S&S main jets can certainly be changed without this tool but this does make it easier. If you are changing main jet on the bike almost essential. Well made and for the price nice to have.

Although you could just use a flat head screw driver to remove/ install jets, this tool makes it fool proof not to damage the slot in the jets. Very useful when replacing jets while the carb is still on the bike. Highly recommended.

I know you're thinking "$18 for what is essentially a flathead screwdriver," but this thing works perfectly and makes changing main jets a breeze. You won't regret it.
