This battery would not charge when we received it. The third-party seller said we had to go through Amazon to obtain a refund. Amazon said we had to go through the third-party seller, but quickly realized the Catch-22. Amazon stepped up and provided a full refund. Well done, team!

The new purchase is perfect. Am a little disappointed that the previous one only lasted 3 years. This is old NiCad technology which must be treated carefully according to instructions and it became unchargeable if it gets too low.
