I bought this so that my box turtle would have something to file his nails on naturally. After placing this slate underneath his heat lamp, he was drawn to it and able to manage his own toenails without needing me to cut them.

Originally bought this as a food dish then gave it to my tortoise to bask on. I will be ordering another one for his food as it worked great for that as well.

I bought 4 of these setting 2 at one end of each tortoise pen to put their fresh food on. The tile helps in keeping their beaks trim and the size keeps their messy eating habits confined to a “clean” flat area.
