This does serve quite well as a non-slip mat in a standing shower booth. It's rough enough to give the bottom of your feet a decent scrub, but is still pleasant enough to step on, and certainly feels secure in a wet shower. It does not, however, seem to dry off quickly. At least, not if you keep it on the shower floor. I've gotten in the habit of hanging it up so it can dry faster, and even then sometimes it doesn't fully dry out between shower sessions. It might dry off fast if you hung it out in the sunshine, but it most certainly does not dry fast without taking extra efforts to make sure that it does.
