Great product. Am going to buy more. Very well built. Far better than some brands with better known names.

Plastic, but thick and solid construction. Allows the cables to be held in place while the door opens/closes. Plastic makes it less expensive than some alternatives. I liked it enough to buy a second one.Only negative was very expensive shipping to California. They should have better options or warehouse with Amazon.
