Obviously protects walls and is very Quiet. I had put cardboard up and works much better.

It is a great wall protector especially when kids are playing. Supper easy to install and seems durable.

I have used a number of different surrounds on my dartboards over the years, but this is the first one that wasn't a solid piece. The four sections slot together easily, and diameter of the hole is just slightly smaller than the dart board, so it required a little wiggling to get it installed. But this also means that it is on firmly, so make sure that you have it oriented correctly. I had to take it off and put it back on a couple of times to get it straight. It can be installed to look like a square or a diamond, depending on your preference.Once installed, it does the intended job well. I threw some darts deliberately at it, and it absorbed the impact fine, and even when I threw hard enough for the entire point to go into the surface, it didn't protrude through the back. Unless you use particularly long points on your darts, the 1" foam (sort of like a yoga mat material) should protect your wall fine. The surface of the surround is a kind of flocked velvet that looks nice and is soft to the hand. Time will tell if it wears well or not, but it seems like it will. It also blends nicely with the black background of the dartboard itself, and makes the numbered sections stand out nicely.I'm not 100% sold on the square/diamond shape or the jigsaw puzzle connecting system. It works fine, but in terms of style, I like the 1-piece round surrounds a little better. The jigsaw seams are definitely noticeable, and I do worry a bit about a dart hitting right on one of those seams and going through a little farther and damaging a wall. But I have several friends in my local dart league who have only used these four-piece ones and have no complaints, so I think it's more of an individual choice issue than anything.
