My order arrived on time & in excellent condition. This analogue thermometer/humidity meter doesn't need any batteries, and the technology's time tested so it should keep working accurately for many years to come. I wanted a meter like this in my home so I can track the interior temperature and humidity. Doing so can help me understand how well my home's insulated, and how effectively my home heating and central air-conditioning systems are working over time when combined with the information on my monthly gas and electric bills, allowing me to see when/if trouble's brewing ASAP.Ernie

PROS: Temperature is occasionally "spot-on;" but more generally it ranges from (sometimes) about 0.5°F high to (most frequently) fully 1.0°F high.CONS: Humidity ranges from 4.5% high to (generally) fully 5.0% high.BOTTOM LINE: Regarding the thermometer, I’m impressed that it’s pretty reasonably accurate. As for the hygrometer, well, since it’s almost invariably about 5% high, I just habitually subtract 5% from the displayed reading. Hence I deem this uncomplicated AND battery-free product a keeper.* * *Many years ago, I inherited a prior [circa 1970s?] version of this particular Springfield product from my late parents. I’ve got that ancient version virtually in “permanent storage” because nowadays it reads temperature about 1.5°F low and humidity a whopping 10% (or more) high. Partly in tribute to my parents, and partly out of my own curiosity, last year I placed my order for this present-day version.Unlike the much earlier version of this product, this newer version’s temperature dial includes a helpful, color-coded “Comfort Zone” ranging from around 64°F through 74°F. And its humidity dial analogously includes color coding ranging from “very dry” through “normal” to “humid.” [But I leave it up to your inspection of that dial face to decide how truly meaningful those designations are for YOUR personal comfort!]CONCLUSION:Now, I can imagine that some other specimens of this consumer product might be either more accurate — or, alas, infinitely more inaccurate — than my particular specimen. And if it hadn’t been for nostalgia involving my aforementioned late parents, I never would’ve even thought about seeking this product. For, normally, I’m more “into” battery or AC-powered products for obtaining indoor temperature and humidity. But, with that said, I must admit that this product continues to be a virtually daily object of my attention. From the get-go, using a couple of my benchmark-caliber battery-powered thermometer/hygrometer units, I’ve periodically verified the accuracy (or, in the case of the humidity, the easily tolerable discrepancy) of this Springfield thermometer/hygrometer. And I must grant that if this product were my ONLY means of reliably obtaining the temperature and humidity of my pantry, I could easily make do with it — without the bother and cost of batteries!

Perfect for what I wanted, a cheap thermometer for my greenhouse. Tells temperature and humidity, it is small, and easily readable. Accurate enough for my needs

Un producto de muy baja calidad, confunden diciendo que es de marca Taylor, pero no es de esta marca, además tiene muy baja precisión.

1. You don't get the hygrometer you see in the picture . You get instead useless tin and plastic product that does not work and does not even look like the item in the picture (The thermometer works but not the hygrometer). Ironically, in correspodence with the condescending distributer, he called this an "upgrade"!! In my book it is false advertising and switch and bait when you show one product but ship another. I asked him in 2 emails to not sell this item or at least to change the photo advertising this item on AMAZON. He did not even relate to my request, but he did return the money. Amazingly, you'd think he'd like to see what the problem is and ask me to return it. NO. He does not care what I do with the 2 junky instruments. He had no interest in my sending them back!!2. Here is what's wrong: I bought two identical items. so it is not that by chance one is not working. The hygrometer DOES NOT MOVE from 48% humdity, ON BOTH identical items I bought. The items have shown 48% all of the time they have been in my house, ever since I first took them out of the box. I know 48% humidity is wrong because I have ANOTHER, different, working hygrometer that shows 67% in the same room with a BIG steam humidifyer, and 55% in the rest of the house!NOW, reader, If one item does not work you would probably forgive and hope your item will work. However, when two of the same product fail there likely is a systemic problem. Right?Don't make a mistake. Stay away from this one.
