This is the second time I order this barometer. The first one didn’t work at all; I followed all the instructions fully. I set it up right next with my very old, 30 year old barometer and watched it for two weeks. No needle movement at all. After returning the first one and receiving the second one I set it up in the same way as the first one. This time the needle went up with the pressure and froze no more movement at all. Meanwhile my 30 year old barometer in the two weeks’ time span has moved up and down twice over.

Did I get a lemon? A large change in the actual barometric pressure causes very little or no movement of barometer. Movement of barometer dial seems to be EXTREMELY stiff!

I am very surprised at how accurate this barometer is especially for the low price. Its not as fancy as some of the higher priced barometers but it is accurate and thats all that matters if you want a good barometer for weather forecast.

I'm surprised at the other reviews. I get quite accurate readings compared with online values from nearby weather stations and am impressed, particularly given the precision of the display marks. The instrument is very lightweight, but I don't view that as such a liability for something I'll be hanging on my wall and removing periodically to calibrate. It does make it a bit tricky when turning the calibration screw, since there's no weight resistance, but you get the hang of it with a bit of practice. Also, if you use classic tapping on the face to determine whether pressure is rising of falling, you'll need to steady it with your other hand. But these are small issues considering the performance and price of the meter.Also, another reviewer is rambling about temperature. This is a barometer, not a thermometer. It makes no claim to measure temperature, so I'd disregard that review.

For $25 my expectations were not high, but even then I was disappointed. Cheap construction and wildly inaccurate.I tacked this on to another order with the intent of just using the baro for instructional purposes. I attempted to calibrate it, but could not get a stable pressure reading (I logged readings over several days and it appears to respond more changes in humidity and temp than pressure).Useless other than as a decorative item.
