Highly recommended intake!I did not personally install my intake on my 2002 4Runner but had my shop do it and it was a perfect fit. My previous intake had an oversize pipe opening on the cold air housing that allowed the brackets to wear out and the vibration of the pipe in contact with the housing opening nearly cut the pipe clean in half. This Spectre intake has a clean, tight fitted pipe opening with full gasket design at the cold air housing that will eliminate any vibration and pipe wear in the future. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this intake and the design and highly recommend!A++++

Love these intakes! This is my second one. I replaced my first one after 5 years of hard off-road abuse in my Tacoma and switching it to my 4runner. The only issue was the rubber couplers beginning to crack, but that is normal and easy to replace. The quality is good, fitment is good, but may require trimming the filter shield, plus it's C.A.R.B. legal!!! All for a really good price!

Good product, and sounds great. Definitely noticed a power increase. One problem with the design though. The heat shield didnt fit currectly, had to bend it a little and then grind down the top of the metal about an inch. Other then that, I like it.

This product is easy to self install. The actual photos contained in the directions are very helpful. If you have all the tools ready and on hand, it won't take much longer than 30 minutes to install. As for the performance:The difference is absolutely noticeable on my 2002 4Runner. Understand though that is comes at a price. A lot more gas gets consumed if you drive aggressively with this. It difficult not to with the difference in performance. If you are driving gently and spend a lot of time driving on the highway, you are going to save some money on gas.Prior to installing, I averaged 289 gallons per tank, after I am now averaging 310. That is 1/2 and 1/2 city/highway combo. If you go on a road trip, the saving on gas becomes more noticeable. All in all, I am still, 3 months after purchase, not sure if it was worth the buy or not. But if your heart set on it, this a quality product that does enhance the performance of your car.

First, the product was delivered next day as promised. All the instructions were easy to follow and I was impressed at the quality of the materials. This is not a case of you get what you pay for. Everything was exactly custom to my vehicle and it took me less than 20 min to install it ( And most of that time was taking out the old air intake ) I am using my cold air to supplement my Hydrogen On Demand hybrid conversion kit ( often called HHO ) and it works exactly as advertised. Power gains are clearly evident and there is a beautiful throaty growl from my engine when I gun it now. Not quit loud enough to be annoying, but nice enough to make your point. The hissing sound is a little loud when I first start my engine, but it goes away as soon as the engine reaches temp. All in all I am extremely happy with the purchase and the service. Thank you.

this intake is very load on my 2001 toyota 4runner ,was trying to get better fuel mileage and a little more push at 70 mph , it makes so much noise i could not wait to get home from the lake , passengers where frowning and asking a lot of questions ,while pulling the pontoon down to the dock it made an constant waaaaahhhhhhwaaaahhhh which drove us all crazy, it kind of sounded good but my buddy said he could hear nothing while i was pulling off, all the noise was coming from the intake , i was only able to hear this when i stomped the gas peddle to the floor and pulling hills hauling my yamaha pwc ,and a constant sound while pulling the pontoon , but the main problem is a constant zzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzsszszszszszszszs, sound coming from the filter, that drove me crazy! so this is what i done, i cut it in half using only the top half reinstalled the oem air box with the mass flow- and the extention connected to it then the spectre with hose and clamps to connect to the throttle body , ordered an spectre oem airfilter, and this litle modification sounds great! nice tone from the back of the car not the front.
