We bought the outdoor blow up hot tub. Which is absolutely amazing, bought it on Amazon. Get it!!!! I use chlorine and this tub of chlorine is a great price. This tub of chlorine is hard to open which is a good thing. You don’t need a lot for the hot tub so this lasts about 8 months I believe. Possibly more I’ll double check. With the hot tub that we use at least 3 times a week….we put a very small amount in every 3/5 days depending on what your test strip says. Test strips we bought on Amazon as well. I test every time before going in or if not used for a few days. Because you do not want your water to go green. If you monitor the water and prevent it from going green than this will last a long time. If it does happen to go green. You will need maybe a 1/4 cup day 1. If still Green Day 2, 1 more 1/4 cup. Day 3 should be green. You don’t want to use too much otherwise it’ll be over chlorinated for several days and you can’t go in. So a little bit a time.

I have always used liquid chlorine in my pool. This granulated chlorine worked great and is just as effective, but much easier to store and manage.

I’m not a chlorine expert, but we use it for our pool and hot tub. The crystals look (and smell) like typical chlorine, but I have no way of judging the quality of the product. All I can judge is the price and packaging. My understanding (from the guy that cleans our pool) is that in 2020 or 2021 one of the main production facilities for chlorine in the US burned down and because of this and the global shipping issues (since the pandemic), the prices of chlorine have been astronomical. For 5 lbs this product is currently priced about average ($57.99). We typically use Leisure Time Spa 56 for our hot tub and that 5 lb bottle is currently $1-2 cheaper. If you do an internet search you can find some products as much as $10 cheaper (who knows about the product, vendor, etc). The container is a little bucket that is slightly trickier to open than the Leisure Time Spa 56 bottle, but it has a handle that makes it easier to carry, so that probably evens it out.
