I planted these with my tomatoes and they performed very poorly. But it must’ve been the soil because the basil didn’t grow either. Only my tomatoes. I planted in some different soil, and they grew like wildfire! I planted them with some beets, radishes, lettuce, and Swiss chard and they outgrew them all! They’re standing tall and firmly. Great value for my money.

This marigold grew almost 2 ft tall and still no flowers. It covered all my garden veggies and had to pull them out

When I planted these seeds at an appropriate time, every single one sprouted! I pleated a second round in Texas in May, which wasn’t ideal and not many sprouted. But when I planted earlier in the spring, 21/21 sprouted. Not all grew into mature plants but I believe that was due to me being a total newbie. Despite this, I have 5 be HUGE beautiful marigold plants currently blooming. They are absolutely gorgeous. I have 3 plants with flowers that look like the pictures, and 2 that are more orange and sparse. Not sure why they look like different species, but they’re all pretty regardless. I took a chance buying cheap seeds on Amazon, and it paid off! I’m very pleased with these!

I started my seedlings indoors with a grow light and waited until they were about 6 inches tall before moving them outside. I had no idea that I bought the HUGE marigolds LOL, so now they are about 2-3 ft tall and have the most gorgeous big blooms. I tried growing some seedlings outside in the garden and that didn’t work out, so I recommend starting your seedlings indoors. I’m not a professional gardener by any means, but these are truly gorgeous and worth the trouble imo.

I started the marigolds in my iDOO indoor garden along with some tomato plants. Every marigold sprouted, grew into a healthy viable plant and are now transplanted along with the tomatoes into their garden. I'm very pleased. I have an excellent companion plant for the tomatoes and the green, goldenrod and red colors that will follow in the garden are a nice bonus.Just a trick for home gardeners who occasionally experience poor germination rates: Though seeds can remain viable for a very long time it is best to toss any left over seeds and start fresh each spring. Yes, it will cost a few extra dollars in seed purchases but your germination success rate will offset the cost.

I’d say pretty close to 100% germination. I put about 3 seeds in each cup. Only one cup has two sprouts, but there’s still time for it to come up. Waiting til mid March to transplant these outside.Update: these things grow like crazy. Although it takes a long time to get any flowers. I’ve had a few with flowers but they get so tall beforehand that I’ve had to keep them cut back so that I’m not fighting marigold bushes to get to my tomatoes. These marigold plants smell terrible when trimming them back. Even after washing my hands several times I can still smell it. I guess that’s why I haven’t had any issue with the giant green caterpillars on the tomatoes this year. That’s a plus!

I planted two seeds in my hydroponic garden and two germinated! They are quickly growing. I cannot wait to see them when they are tall/ old enough to bloom. :-)

There is a lot of variation in both the blooms and their color. Some had a low corolla count, making them unsuitable for decorative use. However, germination was excellent, close to 100%. While some blooms were less appealing than others, overall, the seed pack great value for the price. The plants grew very tall, which I failed to maintain properly when they were less mature. I would also recommend planting a good amount if you’re aiming for a specific bloom type and need many.
