About this item

  • Beautiful - Large full-color packets of Beefsteak Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) seed. Heirloom variety with a wide shape that can grow to 6” in diameter. Wonderful meaty slicing tomato that may hang over the sides of your toast. Has a classic red-tomato flavor. Indeterminate vines need support and will produce until the first frost. Seed packet contains 100mg (about 45 seeds).
  • Productive - Tomatoes germinate in 5-10 days when soil temps are 70-80°F. Plant 1/4” deep and space 36” apart in an area with full sun. This variety will grow up to 6’ tall with a spread of 3-4’. Fruits will mature in 75-85 days, plant in USDA zones 2-11.
  • Good Eats - You can eat these slicer tomatoes plain with some salt and pepper, or add it to your morning toast. Use in recipes such as bruschetta, pico, tomato tarts, jam, or try your hand at storing your garden tomatoes for a long-lasting harvest. Beefsteak tomatoes are versatile, juicy, and savory.

Just started some seeds indoors in Southern California a few days ago (Feb 16, 2025). It’s now Feb 20 and I’m already beginning to see some seeds sprout. So far, 2 of my 6 “pots” are showing signs of life. I planted 3 seeds per “pot” with the expectation that not every seed would be viable. I’ll update my review if more begin peeking their heads out, which I expect they will. All in all, I’m quite pleased and excited to see how the plants do when they’re ready to be planted in the garden.

These seeds were cherry tomatoes, NOT beefsteaks. I heard sometimes seeds get mixed up but when you purchase something, spend time growing it & waiting - you want it to be the fruit or veggie you were trying to grow! Waste of an entire season & no tomatoes for burgers and sandwiches. :(

The plant can go wild on you in no time. You should keep watch and trimm it frequently. It can grow higher than 6 feet, so be prepared with the right support.. The trunk is think and the fruits keep coming.I cut off some branches and tossed them into the compost bin and ended up collecting fruits from the compost bin as well. Not all fruits came out as steak tomatoes. Some came out perfectly round the size of Bonbon while others came out like a mini-me of the steak tomatoes.I would buy these seeds again, but I would trim them often

Hardly any seeds grew andI I used every soil offered for sale on Amazon.. I only have a few plant out of 5 packages and yet the other brands plants are abundantly growing. I’m disappointed. Yet we will see if these few plants even pan out!
