Product is extremely heavy and comes in 2 boxes. While aesthetically pleasing, it did come with some dings and scrapes. Directions did not have words so carefully comb through the images for proper assembly. It took me about an afternoon to put together with a screwdriver. I am pleased overall.

Heavy boxes. Delivery was superb, delivered at early end of timeframe given, brought right in. I assembled by myself. Would be a little easier with 2 people but doable alone. Doors and drawers lined up. Pay attention to labelling on items. Drawer rails and hinges vary slightly and need to be in exact place for each. Solid island. I’m happy with product.

Purchased the kitchen island for my condo and it arrived two day later, very fast delivery of two weighted packages. The delivery person helped bring it into my unit. the item was securely packaged. I had the space cleared, measured out and ready for assembly. The instructions mention two people and a 3 hour job. I started putting it together all by myself just following the simple instructions. The island engineering was exact all the holes where spot on. It took me a little longer since I decided to do this project alone. Only two area to pay extra attention to so that you get it right and draws properly align. First examine the draw roller hardware when you get to that section of instructions as they are marked with two letters on the bar that indicate specifically where to place them. Second make sure the tall door hinge hardware is put on the correct door for a perfect alignment. I just adore this island it has storage space, sitting area and a perfect amount of counter space. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a beautiful well-made item! You for sure need two people to assemble, and good tools. I was missing a piece, so I contacted South Shore customer service and they expedited the piece to me! Excellent customer service. The island is itself Is sturdy and beautiful, and looks just like the photos. I added wallpaper to the inside of the sitting area and it totally elevated the look of the island.

The island arrived without damage. I was really worried, but island looks great! The design of the door hinge causes the doors to be uneven and not close properly without adjusting to line them up and push to close yourself. I ordered a second island from another retailer a the issue was the same. Nevertheless a beauty and very sturdy!

I’m very satisfied with my purchase. One thing though it’s heavy, it took me 2 days to build. However I had to get help from someone to help cause some parts were heavy to lift. I will give it 4/5 stars cause I believe it requires more than one person to build if you are not strong and used to lifting heavy things. On a final note the assemblage was fairly easy, and instructions easy to follow. I like that it doesn’t look cheap although it’s not real marble . The pieces were delivered straight to my door and the were in really good shape.

While it looks nice online, it is very poor quality in person, especially for the price its being sold for. The cabinets would not sit flushed no matter how many times it was redone and to make things worse, it broke within a day of being built. Definitely not worth anywhere near the price it is being sold for. I would have been much better off going to Home Depot or Lowe's for something a quarter of the price because this one is not even worth $200. I would definitely not recommend this item. P.S. the company will NOT cover any return costs if anything goes wrong with the item on their part, they will only send replacement parts but return shipping is an additional cost if you don't want the product. So if you mind paying return shipping costs for an island or losing your money all together, DO NOT purchase.

I bought this because i thought it would be good for a small place; otherwise you know buying tables and chairs can be too much; putting it together was not too hard, but def need 2 people; i also really love how it looks. the 2 boxes are SOO heavy though; once its assembled, its fine .

The boxes / main panels are extremely heavy so you will need assistance bringing it in inside and building it. It's not the best quality build some of the holes aren't exactly aligned so I would recommend for this piece to work for someone to have prior knowledge assembling things. Building it is similar to ikea. I overall really do like the island. I won't be using it as my main source of storage. For mine I updated the handles which I would recommend as a must (they are 6.5" center to center) because the ones provided are poor quality and don't screw in all the way. I also would recommend not using the direct surface for cutting. I have a silicone edging and top surface mat which is heat resistant for food preparation. The top marble surface is basically high quality melamine not stone so if something heavy banks on it or cuts it you will ruin the surface. I plan on getting a few years use out of this so it works for me. I think it's a great buy for the right person but not for anyone who is inexperienced with assembly with building.

I am using this island for my closet. I really didn’t need the drawers or the cabinet part I just wanted a top surface that I could fold clothes on and stuff like that. So the functionality of the drawers really does not affect me however if I was using this in a Kitchen these are small. When I ordered it it stated it would come in the middle of the month however this product arrived very quickly after ordering. Only one box came and knowing the size of the top I knew I was missing something however the details through my orders said it was delivered already. I did reach out to the company to confirm that another box was coming. They responded very quickly and in fact another box did arrive which was massive. I am 5’4” and it was a couple inches shorter than me. It also weighed a lot. I could not carry this in, I ended up unpacking the contents outside and carrying them in. Upon unpacking it outside I did notice a couple blemishes on the unit. The only one that is visible while the unit is put together is one on the top. I did reach out to the company they are sending a new top out however I did install it with the blemish top because of a time striction on my part. I will replace it once the new top comes in. Assembly once you organize all the pieces was very easy. I did not have any issues with the door hinges because I was extremely careful after reading the reviews. However, Just a helpful hint there are two bags with two hinges each and you will need a hinge from each bag for each side. So don’t install both of the hinges from one back on one side.It would be nice if they put one side of hinges in separate bags and labeled them to specify left or right side because a lot of people seem to be having issues with it. I was able to line up the doors nicely I was able to get the drawers in perfectly. assembly was pretty much a breeze. I believe it took me under an hour and a half to assemble the whole unit. The unit serves a good purpose for me it is functional while adding a nice furniture piece to the closet. I did exchange the hardware to match the other hardware in the room . I would absolutely recommend this unit and so far their customer service has been very responsive

This island is absolutely beautiful. I ordered the gary oak (grey/black) color. I LOVE how it looks in the kitchen. One tip for Southshore Furniture, PLEASE implement a way to ship your products with more cushion and padding to limit the amount of damages. I had roughly 5-6 damaged pieces and it was upsetting, HOWEVER, as soon as i contacted southshore they sent me every damaged piece as a replacement! Very happy about that, but that has got to be costly on them.Product is amazing. Very durable and strong. The building process was a little confusing, and there will be times you need a helper. Drawers open smoothly, and the doors have stoppers so they close quietly. All in all i love this island and do not regret purchasing it at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you’re looking for a new island.
