Proper maintenance and careful care will ensure your banneton basket lasts for years
It's a good idea to prep it when you first time use new banneton basket. Get the basket damp and then give it a good dusting with rice flour and let it dry completely it can prevent your dough from sticking to the basket.
We advise you sprinkle a layer of rice flour on the basket again before proofing the bread, it can prevent the dough from sticking to the basket.
Our banneton baskets come with a cloth liner that you can put over the basket if you do not want the spiral pattern. you likely won’t need to clean it between every bake. Just shake off the flour after use and store it. When you do need to clean it, hand wash it with water (do not use soap) and let it dry completely before your next bake. Keeping dry can extend the service life of the bread proofing basket.
