If you wanted to start making sourdough bread and dough, this is literally everything you'll need. It includes the basics, like a jar, instructions and lame (blade), right up to other items you never knew you needed, but make baking much easier, like a silicone lifter and dough scraper/cutter. The proofing baskets are made of BPA food grade silicone, which makes clean up easy, too. I admit I've only ever used actual proofing baskets, so am unsure how the silicone will work. The jar holds over a litre, so you can keep a LOT of sourdough starter, or just choose to keep enough for one loaf. Giving it 4 stars because I think the price is a little high. Grab it if it's on sale, though! Makes a GREAT gift for someone you know is interested in bread making.

The kit comes with a spacious starter jar, both breathable and sealed covers, and even silicone baskets that leave lovely patterns on your loaves. The included lame, bench scraper, and silicone brush are all thoughtful touches that make the process smoother. While the price might seem a bit high, the overall quality and functionality make it a great value, especially with the reliable customer service backing it up. Highly recommended for sourdough beginners.

This kit has everything you need to start with sourdough. The kit is well thought out, and has pretty much everything you need to make your own starter, and much of the other tools/utensils you need to start baking sourdough. The only thing besides the kit you need is a Dutch oven, and obviously some flour. The instructions in the kit are also very well thought out and communicated, and help a lot when making your starter. Overall I am very impressed, and would absolutely recommend this kit to anyone interested in starting their sourdough journey.

About half the kit is good and the other half quality is lacking.The bread sling ripped the second time using it. Very thin and cheaply made. The scoring blades are very flimsy and broke while cleaning is gently. The proofing baskets work great and love that they collapse.

I got the 11 piece set. Go up the the 13 piece set. Everything in the 11 piece set gets you to the point of baking your loaf of sourdough but you really need the silicone sling to put the raw dough in the dutch oven for baking. I'm not taking away a star since the set is great, it was me that didn't realize that I needed the sling. If you don't need the sling, this set is for you.

Everything is of very high quality and includes a large starter jar and all of the other gizmos and gadgets that you need to create a sourdough starter. You get everything except the flour and water. I highly recommend this handy sourdough starting kit.
