The Sound Town STVRC-4BK is a 4U amp rack case with 12.5" depth. It comes with a beautiful vintage look and holds your gear in style. The mounting rack is fantastic! It not only looks great but also fits perfectly in the designated space. The design is both stylish and functional, adding a nice touch to the overall setup. I really couldn't ask for a better product, it's exceeded my expectations in every way.

The ONLY reason these aren't 5 stars is that the Velcro used to hold the grills on (and inside the box) are only glued in, not tacked... this means that almost every time you remove a grill, you have to tape the velcro back down. Small inconvenience as I don't put them on and off often.... but it could have been a simple classy upgrade in the future... other than that, rock solid and beautifully retro looking. Exactly what I wanted.

I wanted to absolutely love this and the main reason I’m keeping it is only because of its price point and I’m making alterations. Also, because I’m ultimately too lazy to make my own from scratch, and too lazy to return this thing and find something new.My usage: tabletop server rackThe good: for a rack, it has a good-looking, unique form factor, and I can lug it around if needed.The bad: the adhesives, Velcro.- The tolex(?) adhesive is failing in the back. I’m stapling this down and calling it a day.- The adhesive for the Velcro came off the panel when I removed it the first time. I’m also stapling this down to the panel.- The 2 Velcro strips in the case to attach the panels are wider than the wood strips. It’s a sticky annoyance so I’m trimming the Velcro strips.- The Velcro on the handle at the bottom of the case has some really gnarly adhesive that doesn’t hold the Velcro well so it ends up sliding and making a really bad mess.- Damage on the large panel: a small patch of threads are frayed.- Damage on the small panel: the cut for the surrounding beading strip was not done well so the strip doesn’t sit evenly as there is still some overlap (easy enough to fix, I suppose), but the original cut had sliced through some threads beneath the beading as well.The “meh” for me:- I originally thought the provided screws don’t fit the tapped holes in the rails. The rails were just painted after being tapped. Get a wider girth screwdriver for some extra torque? I don’t have hands like Lana from Archer. Otherwise, if you’re so inclined, you can retap them? I’m dumping it altogether and getting (2) 6u rack strips with square holes to use with Patchbox /dev/mount cage nut alternatives.So overall, was this worth $199 to me for the 6u version? Absolutely not, but apparently, my annoyance is not great enough for me to lug it back to UPS to return.

The case arrived well packed and in pristine condition. The price was slightly less than the competition (Gator) so the PRICE rating is 5 stars. The QUALITY rating is mixed. The case is very nice but the hardware (machine screws) provided were the wrong size (too large) which caused cross threading (damage) when installing equipment in the rack so the QUALITY rating is 2 stars. The major disappointment is with the CUSTOMER SERVICE which gets ZERO stars. As they requested, I gave them an opportunity to fix the problem. They're solution was to send new screws. They're solution did nothing to resolve the damage to the rack rails. IF YOU BUY FROM SOUND TOWN, DO NOT USE THE PROVIDED HARDWARE!

Nice case, purchased it new. but the tolex is peeling around the inside, and the velcro adhesive is weak.

Arguably the most well built case that also has a unique style versus looking like something that holds artillery (not a guitar fx rack unit). It came packaged perfectly and you can tell it was assembled with care and detail. I'm just blown away by the detail of the work on the case, the front grille cover, all of it.I'm not going anywhere else for rack and equipment cases moving forward - this is my new No. 1!
