I use this for several action cameras and prefer this one over others I have that I do not like. It can also be used as a short tripod. The handle has little magnets built in that keep it together as a stick - which work great.

This tripod has a locking ring that keeps the legs together so its almost like a collapsible umbrella. Problem is locking ring will not release no matter what I do. I have tried just manually turning it, prying it up, a pair of pliers, nothing works. Now I have to waste my time returning it and will have lost severals days time not having a tripod between the cycle of ordering and sending this one back and finding a different one and waiting for it to get here

It is a great little tool that I've attached my el cheapo dive light with my Nikon Coolpix w300 to so that I can take dive photos with less back scatter without having to purchase (and carry) a ~$150 dive camera bracket. Thanks to an earlier reviewer noting that you can shear-off the head if your press on it too hard, I've been really careful and gentle with the head and after 14 dives, so far so good. Please note that I've never used it on land though I hope "one of these days" to use it with my cellphone and possibly even with my compact cameras.Positives:1. Light (important when you are carrying it for months and travelling around the world but rarely using it)2. Easy to use (I attached a cheap string loop that I had through the provided hole pairs on one of the three legs - all three have such - and then attached a dive wrist band to that)3. Negatively buoyant (although some might consider that a negative) which means that they didn't take-up valuable volume (space in luggage) to make it buoyantNegativeOnly one: The screw Rusted after the first exposure to sea water, while you are still in the water (within the first hour of exposure). Though to be honest, I am not sure if I am using the one that they sent. The bottom nut threads have yellowed but does NOT show any other indications of rust. I cannot easily look at the inside threads of the nut in the Go-Pro connector segment, though the rusted screw goes in and out quite smoothly. I imagine that it is in the same shape as the bottom bolt. I religiously soak the entire contraption (with the screw removed and soaking separately) in fresh water for over an hour as soon as I have access to such (typically within 4 hours of the start of the first dive).Suggestion: Cover all threads in silicon gel lubricant Before their first exposure to salt water (even sweat)!Hopefully I am using someone else's Go-Pro screw and the one that they sent is actually more salt water resistant!Overall verdict: I'd buy it again!

For the price this beats the gopro 3 way and max grip in my opinion. The extension is plastic, so it does feel cheap, but unless you're swinging the darn thing, it's strong enough. The tripod ability is awesome. I saw somewhere on youtube that a guy couldn't use the tripod at the lowest position, due to the extension pole protruding from the bottom. If you don't extend the legs all the way out, you're able to. The tripod was still stable at it's lowest position with the legs not extended to the max.Even at the maximum extension, the tripod was still stable enough to endure wind and the weight of the gorpo.

I spent quite a bit of time looking for a "perfect" 3-in-1 stick for my go-pro (I was hoping for a floating stick, selfie, and tripod in one). I was excited to find this product to check off 2/3. The grip is great, I like the length and solid feel. The tripod works well and the varying lengths for extension is great! However, the strap is difficult to attach and the three tripod stands really don't stay together as well as I had hoped. Slightly stronger magnets to keep it together would be a plus. Overall, I am happy with this product compared to what is available on the market!

This is as close as I have found to the ideal all-in-one travel tripod for me. I use the GoPro mount for my Max 360 and GP5... mostly as a selfie stick when doing outdoor sports and activities. It is sturdy, stable, and the thick handle and grip surface is terrific for keeping the camera under control when I am doing board sports. I like how the legs are held together with magnets as they stay put when you want but are easy to separate when using as a tripod. The grip/legs are longer and thicker than similar devices, which allows for a more wider and more stable platform to resist the wind from toppling the camera. I use the phone mount, which is large enough to fit an iPhone XS Max in an Otterbox case, to Facetime and watch videos taken with my cameras. I can mount my regular cameral and SLR when I want to get creative or have the stability for low-light or zoom photos. All in all very pleased and highly recommend!
