I finally decided to upgrade from my D800 to a newer camera body. The only requirement I had was that it needed to be able to use my existing lenses, Nikon F mount, from times past. There is a Monster adapter that has a AF screw allowing me to use ALL my nikkor lenses on a sony E mount body. Nikon doesn't even have this. I cannot mount my 135mm 1:2 D AF DC Nikkor lens on any modern mirrorless camera by nikon. I do not understand why Nikon would screw me over by not supporting any of my mainstay lenses on their newer bodies, but they did. Anyway, Sony to the rescue. This A7IV is much faster, around 10 fps, 4 fps faster than my d800. Even in low light.The greatest downside about this body vs my D800 is that it isn't ergonomic. It is so small it is hard to hold and control. It does not fit my (5'7" Amercian of European Descent) hands like a D800. It requires me to go through menus to do what I can do with button on the D800. The battery life is half that of the D800, even though the battery is the same size and more modern.

It is truly a dream come true! Before purchasing, I did a lot of research, and I can confidently say it was totally worth it. The image quality is incredible with its full-frame sensor, and the autofocus is fast and accurate. I love the versatility of interchangeable lenses, and the camera feels solid and comfortable to hold. Even though it’s a renewed model, it looks and performs like new. If you’re serious about photography and looking for a top-tier mirrorless camera, I highly recommend this one!
