This will turn your solar stove into an actual fire pit where it keeps you warm. I tried the solar stove without this for a few days and realize the heat from the fire did not really reach out to the people that sitting around it. Rather we would have to stand above the fire pit in order to feel any warmth.

Bought this for my husband to put on the solo stove bonfire that he received for Father's Day. Before using it, your legs would not feel the heat from the fireplace. After using it, whole body is toasty. It was a little tricky to assemble because the clips are unlike anything I've worked with before, but once I figured the first one out the next two went very quickly. It seems very sturdy and we love it.

It works as advertised!!!! easy to assemble. No more standing over the pit for heat. I can now sit in a normal chair and enjoy the view and heat. adding wood is not an issue as there is a lot of room to slide logs in. I would recommend a poker to move the wood around as it settles. This will help to keep the flames going.

This deflected the heat from the Solo Stove very efficiently. We were using the stove with the deflector with temps in the low 30's and were quite toasty!

I read a number of reviews before my purchase, most making the same point, that this addition is expensive, but having had 2 evenings with this installed it is a game changer for fire pits. It directs the flow of heat our and down allowing you to sit further back and to be comfortable in the knowledge that the costly wood you are burning is not just going straight up. Absolutely love this. The Solo bonfire pit with this deflector are superb.

I really looked into this before buying due to the high cost of SoloStove's items. Watched a great YT video of a guy showing the difference in heat and bought it. We use it about half the time because its a bit of a pain to install because I wait until the fire is going, but it works. It works really well. If you own a SS, you know that you loose a lot of heat upwards and this this does a great job of getting it to chess height while sitting.All in All, its worth the cost and is well made.

I did a lot of thinking about this before buying it. After all it is really expensive. But after reading many reviews, and applying some basic physics, I decided to go for it. I am really glad I did.It absolutely does capture and redirect the heat noticeably. Of course there are a few caveats. First, if there is a significant wind it is less effective. But my first use was on a 45 degree night with a slight breeze, maybe 3-4 mph. Sitting my usual distance away about 3 feet the difference in radiated heat on me was very substantial and I didn’t have the usual hot and cold zones. I sat at various clock positions around and had the same experience on all positions.If I had to rate the heating of the stove with and without I’d give it a 5 without and a solid 8 with.As you can see from other reviews, this is a must have with the really cold nights. I definitely would buy again!

As with any of the Solo products I've purchased, it's a quality item that's well engineered, effective and expensive. Since it works as advertised and I made the decision to buy it, then it seems that I see the value, but it still seems expensive for a metal disk.I believe once I've had this longer I'll discover a better method for this, but at this point it's a little dangerous. The issue I have is with how the deflector is "installed" when you are using it. When it's cold, it's easy enough to put it on the ledge of the firepit. When you want to add wood or pellets, it's a different story. My opinion is that the smartest way to add wood is to remove the deflector and add the wood or pellets, then replace the deflector. Assuming you use gloves or a pot holder removing it is simple. Replacing it is more of a challenge, particularly if you are using pellets and some of them end up on the ledge. You have to line up the three legs on the ledge with a relatively small margin of error while a fire roars in your face. If you misalign it, or manage to land one of the legs on a couple pellets, the deflector falls off. That's definitely not a good thing. It would be great if there was a heat resistant handle off the side or similar.Most things have drawbacks somewhere, and overall I'm very happy with the performance so I'm very pleased with the purchase.

This works as advertised, capturing a lot of the sky bound heat, directing it to those gathered around the firepit. It’s especially noticeable when the fire has died down a little, no need to pull the chair in quite so close, those logs will seem to last a bit longer.The legs seemed difficult to attach at first, difficult as in fiddly, but what seemed fiddly first-time round is no longer.My tips:If detaching the legs after use, put the clips used to secure them in a safe place, losing any of them would render the Deflector useless, moreover dangerous.Mount it on the firepit once the fire has taken a good hold, I made the mistake of doing so from the outset, it became filthy, but did clean nicely the next day.Good heat proof gloves are necessary, the Deflector gets insanely hot whilst in use.In case you’re wondering, it can be used with the shield in place, the shield being the guard which stops clouds of ash covering the area in which the fire is being used and may persuade those less inclined toward firepits due to the mess to look upon them more favourably.Finally, as to my 3-star rating for value for money, I’m never sure what is a best price from Solo Brands. Flash sales seem to occur frequently, for both the accessories and the pits themselves.Although I’m unsure of the price I paid as in it being the best deal, I’m delighted with the purchase, as I am with the firepit itself, it’s lid, the shield, and the shelter.Happy days.
