I will preface this with this statement, "I do not order items that I do not intend to use myself", that said; I have also decided to NOT review items I order until they have been in service for some time. I feel that their true worth can then be assessed.I have got these valves in service in my own vehicles as well as customers, I even have 2 units I use to control my greenhouse water system. These are great and the fact that they come in varied sizes makes them even better. I really do wish they were my invention.I DO HIGHLY recommend these units.

It appears to be of good quality and is admirably compact, but even so I have quite a challenge ahead finding space for it in a Miata due to a sizable turbocharger that competes for the same space.I make a point of using/implementing as many of my goods as possible before reviewing, but I won’t be able to do so until next season. I rated four stars based on what I see because the thing cries out for some type of labeling. I’m sure I’d figure out eventually, and maybe even remember, which position is bypass and which is throughput, but would it have been that hard to put some arrows or symbols on it? Note how my picture differs from those on Amazon; the red wingnut-style handle is at its extreme, and the other setting is 90 degrees counterclockwise. These orientations seem to represent the gate within, so you can visualize the wings as the wall blocking flow from either hose barb pair to the other, creating two U’s (recirculate, shown) or spanning the junction between two S patterns (flow-through).A word in favor of this valve approach in lieu of simpler horseshoe tubes you install in spring and remove in fall, or justify because you live someplace warm and don’t think you need cabin heat: Aside from being much simpler to operate twice a year, I was recently reminded how useful it can be to have a functional heater core when my car overheated and I was able to turn the cabin heat on full blast. I wouldn’t have wanted to pull over and flip a valve to do so, but at least I’d have the option with this product. Not so with a horseshoe or full heater delete….

I needed a total bypass heater valve for my project vehicle. 1952 Chevy on a 2000 S 10 chassis. Easily modified to be cable controlled from inside the cab.
