I was excited to receive this hat for my trip to West Texas because I thought it would be an excellent hiking hat to keep the sun off my face as well as my hair. When I received the L/XL size hat I could already tell it was probably going to be too small. I would say the L/XL size is just a “regular” size for most people. I have a pretty big head so I only ordered because I was like “finally a XL size option for a hat” only to be disappointed that it was just a regular one size fits all type size not a true ‘XL’ type hat. (For context the coolibar Stevie hat is also too small on me) Additionally I have very thick curly hair and i couldn’t even fit half of my hair through the pony tail hole if I tried. Kind of a pointless pony tail hole unless you have a very thin pony tail really. It’s a shame because I love the feel of the fabric and style but I’m going to have to return this item. They should just discontinue the small size or market it as child size so people don’t make this same mistake.

Leave it to the Aussies to know how to make a good sun hat! Ha! I wanted a good, non-toxic (as in not made of polyester etc. ) sun hat that had good UV protection and this is it!It is well made, definitely feels like a cotton linen blend and sits well on my head. It's not too heavy, nor too tight and the brim is bigger than any other I have used before. It actually takes some getting used to in that I have run into things several times because I didn't see them. Not a huge deal, because to me it means the hat is doing its job, but I just have to be aware of that fact until I get used to it.I had an issue with the chinstrap and customer service was quick to respond resolving the issue right away.This is by far the best sun hat I have ever owned and I feel pretty and well taken care of when wearing it. :)I highly recommend!

I bought this hat to take on a recent cruise. I got a size larger than I thought I needed and it worked out great. The hat is lightweight, very comfortable to wear and the wide brim is awesome. I love that you can shape it to your style preference with the internal brim wire.. The strap is durable and very useful on windy days. The sun protection and breathability of this hat is great. This is absolutely perfect for being outside and wanting to keep your head cool, while keeping the sun off of your face and neck. It folds up nicely and is perfect to take traveling. It more than met my expectations. It's fabulous!

This hat is large and gives incredible sun coverage without being comically oversized. I originally purchase it as a gardening hat but will be wearing it for much more than that because of how much I love it. I purchased the larger even though I was on the cusp of sizing and glad I did. The only negative thing I have to say is the ponytail hole sits very low on my head so I still need to reposition my ponytail to fit it which is annoying but worth the trade off because I know my neck won’t get burnt.When baby wearing it gives my baby ample coverage from the sun. My favorite feature is the adjustable rim that can be bent to shape as needed. I’ll definitely be wearing this at the pool and beach come summer. I was originally hesitant to spend so much in a hat but am now tempted to by another so I have a dedicated gardening one. It will depend on how well it holds up with washing when it gets dirty.

This hat is beautifully made. The fabric (I really wanted natural fibers, and 80% linen was even better) and stitching are top notch. I love the colors and that it's adjustable to fit. Another great feature is the covered ponytail slot; a lot of hats with the ponytail feature have an open hole, leaving an exposed patch on the back of your head if you don't have your hair tied up.It does a great job shading my head and neck. With such a large brim, the chin strap is a must, though I do wish it could lock into place for windy days.I decided to update this review and raise my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Yes, it looks kind of goofy on me (lampshade), especially since I'm short. I'm really glad the brim is wired so I can adjust it a bit, but at the end of the day, it's about function, not form.If I could have tried it on in person, I would've gone for a style with a smaller brim. But seeing as it came from Australia (I'm in the US and didn't realize it was coming from overseas) and I love everything else about it, I won't bother with an exchange. I received my order in only 5 days! For $7.95 shipping, that's a bargain.

Gets a 5 star rating because1 Sturdy well made hat that is true to size and actually fits my large head2 I can pack it in a suitcase without hurting the hat3 Looks stylish enough to wear around cities and towns but also suitable for bushwalking and the large brim provides good sun protection4 Clip on chin strap means it wont blow off when sailing or bushwalking but can be removed if you don't need the look that day5 Dispatched promptly and arrived 6 days ahead of expected date so I am happyNote it is more a tan colour than cream

I haven’t washed it yet, but I’m very glad I bought it so far. It’s cool and comfortable and while providing great shade, the wide brim is so designed (sloping down) that it doesn’t catch on my collar at the back, nor interfere with turning my head side to side - unique among the very many hats that I have. I can even wear it driving, with the brim at the front turned up my peripheral vision and head turning is not compromised, while my eyes and the side of my face can be protected from the low slanting sun. I feel stylish and protected with this hat.

Material is awesome because the quality is very noticeable. The quality 👌 is worth the price. I like to incest in good sun hats because I live in a place where we enjoy sun all -year around but it comes to the downside that I must take care of my skin. So, this sin hat is very versatile to wear all the time and ut has a great coverage. It is very light, you can wash it easily and carry out inside your bag if you want. It is an Australian brand and small size fits me well.

Looks nice. Wire rim keeps it from being floppy: you can adjust the shape. Well made, good quality breathable material, but it says not machine washable ( due to the wire in the brim?). I am going to eventually try to wash it on gentle cycle at the end of the summer.
