This is an awesome portable fan that charges in the sun. The lights on the fan are great as well. We lost power and this little fan fit the bill at night to give us light and some cool air. Would make a nice gift. Good purchase.

So I have been putting this to the test as hurricane baryl came through and i was out of power for weeks before I could get a Genny. This little fan and a couple others was all i had to keep cool. I also used it to keep my phone charged. I primarily kept this on low fan setting which for the most part was enough. It lasted easily all night and still would have plenty of battery left. I haven't used the solar charge feature. But it would charge easily using my car USB 2.1 port in about an hour and half from zero. Just came back from a camping trip where the wife used it. If I had to pick on something about it would have to be it is loud even on low setting. I have another fan that is very quite compared to this one. Also I am bummed that it didn't have a night function to turn off the lights as they are pretty bright. That's just me being picky with this fan. Would either of these stop me from actually purchasing it? No I do enjoy it and think it's a good value

Overall, this is a nice little portable fan. It's actually pretty quiet for the amount of air it moves. It's a bit heavier than I would have expected, so it not going to be a backpacking item. The fan runs a long time off of the battery. I actually turned up the fan speed to use up the battery faster, so I could test the charging on it. I was skeptical of the solar charging initially. I had the fan sitting outside in cloudy weather for 3 days and during that whole time it continued to charge from 25% to 50% of a full charge, but never reached 50%. However, when the sun did come out, I also had time to set the angle of the solar panel optimally and adjust things to follow the sun. Once I did that it completed the charge in about 2 hours. So, it indeed will charge pretty fast under ideal conditions. However, if it's a cloudy day and you need to recharge it, you probably will resort to an outside power source. I really can't comment on the light that it has other than to say it works. Here in Alaska when it's sunny and summer, we don't really need a light.

After 8 hours, this is the most it would charge. I used direct sunlight and a charger.
