We bought 2 of these digital thermometers, one for the hot tub and one for the pool. They work great, even when they are covered for several days without charging.UPDATE:. Changed from 5 stars to 3. We've used these for me one season and one has completely stopped working and both have so much condensation in the read out window that they are very difficult to read. We will try something new for next year.

Pros: Simple, big displayCons: tether cord degraded and unit quit working in 35 days.First impression was that it's well built, big easy-read display and worked well ... while it was alive. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on this, but I expect more from $16 than 35 days of use. When pulling it from my pool I shook it and could hear water sloshing around inside, so it's not waterproof.It was not abused, all I did was secure it to the wall and plop it in the pool.

What is nice we don't have to bend over and lift the thermometer out of the water and then try to determine is it 84 or 83 degrees. love it and so far so good. even threw away the old one even though it worked didn't keep it as a back up.

I just hooked up my Solar Thermometer SP201 in my 16x32 swimming pool. I misplaced the manual, I went to the order and the directions on how to turn it on were right in the description pictures next to the picture of the product on Amazon. Thank you for that feature. It was very simple to put in pool. I find all the pool thermometers I have bought over the last 35 years come with a cord that ends up dissolving/shredding from the sunlight and salt water chemicals. I bought a heavier cord that I hope will last the summer. It was not easy taking a picture while standing outside the pool. It kept moving. I tried my best. You can see the temperature from outside the pool. Some person wrote a review that stated he wished he could read the temperature from inside the house. Please now, can you be any lazier. Just kidding. Love this product so far. I will keep you updated!
