The soapstone marks show up best on dark fabric/surfaces and rough surfaces. I like that it wipes off easy. Everything came in whole pieces, but gotta be careful with it cuz it is a brittle material and will not stand up to hard impact like falling to the floor.

Whether you use them bare or in a holder, soapstones are very useful in the metalworking and fabrication trades,This is a nice quantity for a fair price so you can always have them handy

The slabs are slightly dusty, but the finished edges are pretty smooth and the sticks are comfortabel to handle. quite thin though, so difficult to wield whilst wearing thick welding gloves. I prefer to use these without gloves on. Some of the stones arrived chipped, and cardboard package didn't hold up well to transport as the tape broke and box arrived open and deformed. Everything still usable but minor damage.
