I have been making homemade soap for about 2 years now. I only use the ingredients I know, and I only try the basic combination of olive oil, palm oil, and coconut oil + lye. This is the first try for me with already made soap that all you have to do is melt it and pour, wait for it to cool down and voila the soap is ready to use type of application.I have to say I am a new user to this, I have no experience with melting the soap, so I follow the instruction to put the chopped soap base into small chucks to aide in melting, it does take a few additional heating session to get it completely melted in a bowl as I did not want it to burn. Just be careful at handling the heated soap base, it is extremely hot. The first try was no go, it went to solid state very quickly for some part of the soap, and the result was a disaster. Thought to myself, shouldn't it be easier than adding oil and lye with the soap base, well, I guess it requires a few try.The second time, I decided to just add a scent, menthol/mint to enhance the smell, as the soap base itself smells virtually nothing (I bought the mango butter), and I have all the ingredients/material ready, and put the portion in a silicone mold. As I heat up everything in silicone mold, I can stir a few more times before it all cools down and I can not do anything to it. It turns out this is the way to go. Lesson learned.Overall, it is a great starting kit for some one who wants to get into soap making and without having to work with lye. But as always like any other activity that heat is involved, extreme caution should be exercised at all time. Have fun with your creation. This is a great gift giving idea, just in time for the holiday season.

Mango Butter Soap Base. 2 pound blocks. Unscented.Easy to cut. Melts smoothly with no frothing. Pours well and hardens to a nearly solid state. Creamy smooth, the mango butter is a good soap base, moisturizing skin while accepting scents, oils, coloring, and other butters.Packaged in a giftbox presentation with a high-quality illustrated Homemade Soap Recipe booklet, this soap base set would make an excellent gift.

I use this soap base for all of my soaps, even my sugar scrubs!! My only issue is that I have reached out to the seller 3 times asking for a list of ingredients and they don’t respond.I guess if you want to sell the soap, you can’t use this soap as you are unable to disclose the ingredients properly.
