This let’s off a beautiful glow but easily blows out with very little wind.

No real purpose to owning one of these other than they look nice when lit if your going for the full on snow peak look. I like it and it does give a good feel good factor in the garden as a backdrop to a glass of wine.

I'm a huge fan of having a proper light at a campout. Whether it's an old Coleman gas lantern, a campfire, or a tiki torch. This compact lightweight lantern is perfect for simple campouts whether backpacking, yak packing or car camping. The flame is adjustable, and it seems to barely use any fuel. If you have a can of fuel that you've used for several cooks with a cook stove, and feel it's almost empty, this can still likely run for hours on it.The design is simple yet eloquent. The function is easy, and the included case ensures you can toss it in your gear bag and still have it arrive at camp in tact.

Do you need it? No. Do you want it? Yes. Total luxury item but I love it. I don't like light pollution at the campsite and so I don't use a big lantern or anything bright at all. This is the happy solution as I can control the flame / light level. I keep it low for general light and low level ambiance, but will turn it up when grabbing beer or whatever from the ice chest at night. It's high quality construction; nice little box to store it in. All around a great addition to my set up and just one of those little things that improves your outdoor experience. Highly recommend.

I originally purchased a similar-looking, but cheaper, version. This one is way, way better. The burner on the other one wobbled, making me concerned about gas leaking out, and the adjustment ring didn't work. THIS one works beautifully, and provides a nice soft light. I found that it was enough to read by and I'm really pleased with it.

This is a really nice product to burn through the butane canisters that are low. It provides the same light as maybe a large candle but provides that ambience that is just fun for outside dinner or basic low light conditions that you don't want to over power your neighbors when camping. The material of construction is solid, glass is thick, and control mechanisms seem well made. It seated as intended to the isobutane bottles. I do wish it had a small integrated spark device but just used a little lighter and it took off easy. In heavy wind if you face the open spot where you light the gas it can blow out so just face it opposite and mange the fuel setting to keep it going. This isn't a hurricane lantern by any means but does its job for its intended purpose. Overall I'm very happy with it and in general I've had great experiences with SnowPeak. I started with their titanium camp stove probably 10 years ago and it is still my go to for camping.

Yes, you are paying for the brand name, haven’t use it long enough to say how reliable it is, but Snow Peak is known for their quality so not that worry, and life time warranty; sure you can find tons of Chinese Knock off version that looks exactly the same and will work the same.It came with a case and fit perfectly, it protect the glass tube; you only need to turn the knob a bit to light up, and no need to adjust it too much to make it the brightest.According to the instruction (and it is in English) it will use up 7 grams per hour, so just attached it to a small can will probably last you whole trip, it is tiny, it looks better on a small can, but it is also good for emptying a used can from cooking. It does produce some heat, will burn you hand if you touch the glass, so watch out when you take it off; it’s not powerful enough to make you warm, but might be useful for a night light to keep some warm air in your tent, just make sure you have good air flow

I typically use fuel canisters and a small camp stove to do my cooking on camping trips, so this lantern made a lot of sense as I already had a few canisters packed to bring with me.What I didn't expect was the ambiance the lantern creates. It's a soothing sort of a flame and just makes your environment feel that much cooler, on top of adequately lighting the surrounding area. It gives you that feeling of a traditional lantern. It's a very small and compact product, but is built very well. It's very sturdy and comes with a small plastic case to protect it.Overall, I'd highly recommend this product for your next camping trip!
