This tuner seems accurate, but it seems finicky about showing flat or sharp quickly. It's an OK tuner for the price.

We own many instruments. My wife is a three time Grammy nominee in the Bluegrass world. We have used Peterson Strobotuners, saw that the Snark was easier to read but the Snark just doesn't cut it on bass, baritone, mandolin, banjo, or PanAmerican single-slide nose-flute in standard H tuning (just kidding). So maybe this tuner is best suited to beginners who just need a sloppy base pitch as a starting point.

Bought the snark just short of £18 because it's supposed to be the dogs doo daa's, But I also purchased another a canton just short of £12 just to compare them, the snark boasts to be deadly accurate within 1 cent and the canton within 5 cent, whatever that is the snark first simple to set up by default the pitch starts at 440 great if your a banjo player and I am, with the snark you have a choice of microphone or vibration and both functions work well ie no difference no matter what setting you use but there again it quite in my house, but if your at a gig and there lots of other instruments about then vibration would be the better setting the snark looks good and the build quality seems fine, although some reviews state it snaps easily so a quick squirt of silicone in the ball joints were they snap makes them very easy to move about, so on the headstock it went and I was in tune within minutes, solid green and the banjo was spot on I went for the battery operation as I always have 2032 batterys lying around, and the rechargeable one was £8 more, now the canton again easy to set up and as a few presets from guitar to banjo and is also rechargeable not bad for just shy of £12 on the headstock it went twang went the strings and again absolutely spot on, ok I thought why not clip them both on so I did both tuners gave me spot on solid green no flickering or jumping about just a nice green so testing complete I rate snark 4 stars just because your paying for the name, value for money goes to the canton just as good, and £6 cheaper plus the canton as solid steel ball joints so no fear of snapping them, and is rechargeable. So happy plucking or strumming what ever takes your fancy

This a an excellent little tuner. It's quick, accurate and easy to see. I am glad to see snark has reinforced the pivotal joints. I have also noticed on this model it has an mic/vib switch I have not seen on previous snark tuners. This is a great feature if you're tuning an instrument where attaching a clamp may not be adviseable or not able to do so. It also has the metronome and adjustable tuning settings other than 440 if needed. Nice pastel color. I highly recommend this product.
