My friend recommended these. I do BMX and wear pedals that would do more than chew a hole in my calves or shins if I step wrong. Most pads are for your shins and not your calves. These work great! One small note, theses are advertised as camoMax but they arrive with the brand name QOGIR

A really well built gaitor. The only improvement would be to add a strap under the foot and plastic shield to the insole. That would make a 5 star product.

I use snake guards for early season bowhunting and spring time field work. Previously, I used a $20 set from Bass Pro. They were decent enough, but the buckles / snaps were extremely flimsy, and I was never confident that they wouldn't fall apart. These snake guards are much more robust. The buckles / snaps are appropriately sized for the job. They do not feel flimsy, and I am not worried about the plastic cracking from normal use.The gaiters themselves are a bit thicker than my last set, but I'm ok with it. After all, that's their purpose. So a bit more weight, but definitely more confidence that they can stop a bite from a nope rope. The adjustments are a bit unusual. It's a standard sliding buckle, but the loose end is held in place by a sliding loop that slides up and down the working end. It took a bit to figure out the best way to work them, but it's not rocket science. I did have one work itself loose after a few hours. I'm not sure if it slipped or if it got caught on a sapling that pulled the buckle up. If it continues to be a problem, I will cut the loose end and tie a stop knot once the adjustment is confirmed.Comfort is a bit subjective, but these are fine. No one is going to say that snake guards are comfortable compared to no snake guards. That being said, I wore these for four hours over long pants and hiking boots. My lower legs were a bit warm, and I sweated a bit more. But that is just par for the course for snake guards. These things are a calculated tradeoff: I'm swapping a bit of comfort and weight for protection. All in all, no complaints.

This product was purchased for my husband to protect his legs while weed eating , or working outside. We live on 10 acres and there is a forest so added protection from snakes! Perfect love it

I don't intend to need these daily, so for my uses these are just affordable enough to justify without stepping up to a premium product. The fit is a bit loose unless you tighten the heck out of the straps, but resting on my boots I do feel much safer and can actually focus on my work in the field instead of paranoia about snakebites. I am still alert, but these were really for an accidental stepping on a snake in the desert, since I find myself working in some rural parts both day and night. The protection feels adequate to stop most bites from snakes found in the US who typically will not strike above 2/3rd their body, and we don't have that many long snakes. You could still get tagged above these, or on the hand if you aren't careful, but these are easy to deploy and carry to reduce the odds greatly of a strike when you least expect it. I find them easy to wear hiking or driving from place to place as needed. They do add warmth when its cold and hot when its hot.
