Good quality wood, thet’s clean, easy to use after soaking, and has very good smoke level that adds a magnificent flavor to your meat choice.

This is better any wood chunks you'll find at a big box store. Sizes are mostly uniform, nice and dry and will burn for a good amount of time. I bought the oak and it imparts the perfect smoke flavor. It may be a little pricey but their are no scraps like you'd find in a bag from the big box stores. Also little to no bark. I'm very happy with my purchase and am going to buy again and again

I smoke a LOT of ribs, beef and pork, here in Texas on my offset charcoal smoker, and was surprised at both the effectiveness and economy of use of these chunks. I have a Smoker Joe longhorn offset smoker and I only placed three of these chunks on top of the lit coals once the right temperature had been in met in the smoker chamber. Not only did they produce excellent & flavorful smoke for the ribs they lasted a LONG time: 3 chunks lasted a full 4+ hours, plenty of time for the initial 3-hour smoke of the ribs before they were then wrapped in in the foil for stage 2 of the trusted 3-2-1 smoked ribs method. Other chunks I've tried have typically had to be replaced after 1 1/2 to 2 hours, so the fact that these lasted so long makes them an extremely affordable, economical and viable choice (and obviously saved on the use of some additional charcoal). Also, unlike similar products I've purchased there were very little, small "waste" chips in the bottom of the box, just plenty of nice, decent size chunks of smoker wood so I didn't end up paying for a lot of small, waste chips that would be basically unusable. I've now smoked St Louis style Pork ribs and beef short ribs using these and the results have been excellent! I would highly recommend these for any casual or even serious meat smoker out there.

All the chunks are nice sized, no small pieces which burn up quickly. Almost no bark. Will definitely buy again.

Bought the cherry wood chunks for my husband to use in his smoker & pit; we smoke a lot of jerky for our kids & grands for Christmas, & cherry wood is the taste they love the most. It has gotten hard to find cherry chunks in our area, so when I came across this 10lb box I had to give it a try. This is some of, if not the , cleanest chunk wood I have ever found. The pieces are very uniform in size and shape, and they are all clean wood ... no chunks of bark. And the bottom of the box was clean, not full of dust like other brands we have used. Husband's main smoker has a small fire box that takes small chunks, so he cut the chunks in half; took him all of 10 minutes with a hammer and an old axe (used as a chisel), and the wood was ready for making jerky. He was so impressed and happy that he had me immediately order 2 more boxes for "jerky season" and beyond. Definitely recommend.

Most of the chucks are uniform some must be split again if you are using a lid to your container. But the quality of the wood is outstanding, the price is good for the amount. The only reason it's not a five star is because you have to split some pieces.
