I have had this item for several years. Seems a good value for the money. Turns off and on so only use it when needed. Battery has lasted several years but this is my turning off and on only when needed. Boy is the alarm loud.

EDIT: Based on my first review, the seller contacted me and sent me 2 new detectors. I hope the product glitches will be fixed, but nothing beats great customer service!I've purchased 25 of these alarms (for my home and 2 rent homes) over the past year and a half and so far most of them perform well. However I've already replaced 2 of them (for intermittent chirping) and I now have 2 more that are intermittently chirping. (Took me forever to figure out which ones.) Now its only available with both smoke and CO, which is fine for me although a bit more pricey. Would appreciate a way to contact seller to address warranty.

This came with all the necessary adhesive and hardware for easy installation. It has a loud alarm when activated. We haven’t had the alarm go off, but I tested it on installation. It has been silent since with clear numbers on the front showing we’ve had no detection. My only complaint to share is that the light around the device does flash. This is something we do notice nearly every night while sleeping. This took a little getting used to on our part, so if that will be bothersome, that is something to consider. The actual functionality of this smoke detector has been great.

I tested it as recommended out of the box and it behaved as though it was functioning. Then placed this downstairs in a living room area where I have a woodstove. I wanted to be sure I had a CO detector down there particularly, in case the stove backdrafted. It did backdraft one night but this alarm did not sound. Instead, another plug-in alarm I have at the top of the stairs leading out of the downstairs set off and woke me up, and thank goodness. That means the entire downstairs was flooded with CO before enough of it made it up the stairwell to send off the second alarm. Before I got its replacement (Kidde brand) in, I also had an issue with smoke from the woodstove this alarm did not make a peep. The replacement sounded immediately with much less smoke. It is dangerous, and should be criminal, to sell an ineffective safety device people rely on to protect their family's lives. This product should be removed from Amazon.
