Great replacement top for my 2006 Wrangler. It was super easy to put on myself, took 40 minutes (and Iām not really āhandyā). The only tool needed is a phillips (I do recommend a drill for time sake). The front screws in, and the rest is velcro or snaps. I really didnāt find the back window too hard to zip, but Iāve had my jeep for 18 years, and the window has never been āeasy.ā The struggle was mostly zipping around the corners, but I got it after several tries. This top isnāt loose on my frame like some have mentioned. Iām so happy to have a back window again (the zipper to my back window broke on the last top, and I rigged a tarp as my back āwindowā for way longer than I should have.

The rear window zipper pull tap is weak. While zipping on the rear window the pull tab with nylon string attachment came loose. Poor design. It's heat clamped and any real resistance it pulls out. They need to go to factory style which is 2 piece, that has it clipped and glued in to hold the pull rope. Other than that great top.

I had this same top for about 7 years, and just recently replaced with the āsameāā¦.butttt this thing fit pretty loose, the rear window zipper ripped out the second time using it and tore from the top, so looking for a better replacement

My 2005 TJ still had the original top for over 17 years. I took a chance on this because of my tight budget and Iām extremely happy with the end result. There is really not much difference between the Smitty top and my original. The vinyl windows are a bit flimsier but that makes them easier to handle. This top is actually easier to work with than the original sailcloth. It does tend to have a few wrinkles which I expected and Iām ok with that. The zippers look to be comparable to the original. The toughest part was affixing the top to the header bar but with patience itās straightforward. Make sure you install this on a hot summer day and lay the pieces out in the sun for awhile to become more pliable. Donāt even try it if the temps are below 70 degrees. Removing the old top was very simple. The whole thing took me about 2 hours because I worked slowly and methodically. There was a bit of a struggle rounding the corners of the back window with the zipper. Just take your time, donāt force it and make sure you stretch the top so the zipper can mate the top to the rear window. This was the first time I had ever replaced a convertible top. All in all, Iām very happy with it. I havenāt had it in a rainstorm yet so I canāt report on its ability to shed water. For just over $200 the value canāt be beat. See photos.

Fit is perfect! I was hesitant to purchase because some people said the zipper quality was not good but they look great I will update if I have any issues. Easy to install took about 45 min myself. I would say itās on par with OEM quality. Itās a huge upgrade from my 18 year old original top.

Material not as thick as original top, but will work fine.Header screw holes were not exactly lined up as per the original top, original had one more hole. We made it work for us.All said, will work just fine for the price

This was for a 2000 Wrangler Sport. Installing it myself took a little over an hour. I watched a couple install videos to make sure I was doing it right. All in all it was simple and looks great! The one I bought did NOT come with the half door upper skins but the top matched the skins I had on it already. It has a denim finish. the header screw holes are marked center for you already. If I'm not too lazy I'll update after I take it on the highway to inform about road noise. Here is the update. Driving on the highway I get the road noise (surprise surprise) but it isn't as bad as my old soft top. This top (being new) is much tighter, therefore less flap noise. even with the rear window rolled up and the front windows down its much quieter, (even with the zipper grabs rattling like a snake). The one thing I noticed is when you roll the rear window up the holders are elastic and they stretch and bounce. Other than that I still love this top, it was a great addition to my Jeep. I hope this helps.

The roof is kinda loose, also, the rear glass panel is very very hard to install, the zipper is poorly made. And you need to have a previously bought bow assembly, otherwise it will not fit. It would have been nice to know it on amazon before. Also, the instructions are really unclear.I tried to return it, and I have to pay the shipping and a returning fee from 20% to 50%.

Fits perfectly on my 2001 Jeep TJ.UPDATE: July 1st 2021:I have been really impressed with this top. It's performed perfectly since September 2019 when I bought it; has been waterproof in all weathers, and still looks like new when I wash the Jeep. It also fits my 2001 TJ way better than the pictures in the ad suggest; it's a great fit, looks and performs great.I anticipated it being a little lighter than the MOPAR original soft top but it's pretty close. The included instructions are quite clear, and I also looked on YouTube for any installation videos. It's much easier if you are replacing a soft top, as the screws for the front channel are a stright replacement (you will need the factory frame and fittings in order to install the Smittybuilt one.It wasn't sunny when I put the top n so it was a bit of a palaver getting everything to stretch. Most things went on with little fuss, except the rear windows which, for some reason, was decidedly reluctant.Anyway, it eventually went on and I am very happy with it. It was perfectly fine during recent rain, no leaks at all. It is quieter on highways than the original MOPAR soft top, no flapping and road noise seems a little better - not a great deal, but noticeable. I will update this review when it's had chance to bed down and settle. I plan on driving through the West Coast winter with the soft top on, so it will be a good test of the overall quality and performance. It rains A LOT here, so let's see what the top can do.I'm happy, and can recommend this soft top for Jeep TJs.
