Great helmet. Got the purple color and it’s very pretty and matches color online perfectly. I love that it has MIPS to help protect from concussions. Really comfortable and appreciate the visor.

Lightweight, extremely comfortable, looks great. Most importantly it probably saved my skull, took a hard spill and the helmet took the blow. It cracked in a few places so I’ll be needing another, but it’s better than my head. Highly recommend Smith

I got this helmet after returning a cheaper one because it felt like it was made out of recycled soda cans—super cheap and definitely not gonna last. I’d already had my eye on this one, but hey, I’m a broke college student, so I went for the budget option. BIG MISTAKE.So, I swapped it out for this helmet, and WOW. The color? On point. The material? Feels solid and built to last. The style? Immaculate. The vibe? Pure confidence on wheels! The straps are way more comfortable—not that scratchy, rough stuff the cheap helmets have.10/10 would recommend for anyone who wants to actually like their helmet.

Smith makes great lids for whatever you need them for. I've mostly seen their stuff on the slopes but it's good to see that they're making bike helmets as well. This helmet fits true to size and is pretty comfy. There's a dial-to-fit adjustment at the back of the helmet for fine tuning the fit. The visor comes in handy for off-road riding (and is removable). This helmet has the MIPS anti-rotational system integrated into the design. It seems that MIPS is all the rage as of late but be aware that MIPS has little to no effect on being concussed. A concussion is caused by the brain bouncing off the inside of the skull and the MIPS system is only meant to prevent the helmet from twisting the head during impact. It's okay for what it is but it's not going to prevent much damage caused by blunt force. Lots of vents in the lid to help your head keep its cool while riding, and it has some pretty good curb appeal. So, slap a lid on your noggin and go ride a bike!

It was rated highly on a bunch of review sites. The price was completely reasonable for what you get. Especially having the MIPS technology. I haven't hit my head yet, but I'm rating it as if I had and I'm still alive. If anything changes that way, I'll drop the rating, but everything is great with it! I DO recommend.

I got this because I wanted a Smith helmet. I have Giro road helmet but felt Smith was more of a Mountain Bike brand name. It was discounted and on Prime so I went for it, and I am happy I did!I took this to Arkansas in November to do some singletrack. The temps were 40-60 degrees so it was not hot out, but we got pretty hot and I know the feeling of a helmet that doesn't breathe, this one did breathe and I didn't feel stuffy, I really didn't even feel it on me because it is pretty light and it fit well. Note that I am a regular rider so I am used to wearing a helmet, but I have worn many uncomfortable helmets over 15+ years. This one is comfortable and light. A new rider may notice it more than I do, but this is a good one in my opinion and I have had maybe 10 helmets.the adjustable straps and knob made it easy to adjust to fit my head. The straps were a bit long once I adjusted them but I tucked them up. At some point I may cut them or rubber band them but they worked fine tucked in for a full weekend of riding 6 hours a day.Happy to have this helmet as my trail/singletrack helmet alongside my road helmet for road biking and my full face helmet for downhill.

I never wear cycle hats and I must have been cycling a good 40 years. So I decided to get a hat I hate florescent colours and some of the designs are way out there. I saw this hat and decided to get it. Its got MIPS system designed to stop your head and neck from getting twisted or something in a crash so that was cool and the colour is a nice neutral green nothing way out there. The hat itself is really lightweight the strap system does not cut into you. and it keeps your noggin cool even on a hot day the sun visor is really good although not adjustable if your looking for a cheap helmet with good safety design this one is a must !

I bought a new bike this year. Wanted to get motivated to ride to work more. Bought new padding for my old helmet all was good. A young man that works for me rides his bike to work everyday. He told me that I should replace my helmet every 5 years or so. Makes sense and I figured I would try something different than my Giro. I've had two Giro helmets before this one this last one I've had for 11 years. I'm going to keep it had as back up.Not knowing anything about new helmets and seeing there were a lot of choices I picked this one for a few reasons. One the name. I know about Smith they are a little pricey but figured I'd give it a try. I don't need a crazy expensive helmet and I know you get what you pay for in the cheap ones. MIPS, never heard of this but if they say it's safer then it's an added measure of feeling good knowing it will protect me from injury in the event of a crash. I grew up in the 80's and 90's and rode without a helmet up until I bought a nice mountain bike. So anything to me is better than nothing. The 11 year old Giro that I have still looks good and has been kept in inside. I know the material could be brittle but again anything is better than nothing at all. I like the black. I bought some red reflective stickers to place around it for looks and better function. The padding is good the tighten adjuster is easy. I like the click of the wheel giving you minor adjustability to dial in the fit. When it's cold in the morning I wear a cap that I have to adjust it out to fit then during lunch or the ride home in the afternoon is easy to adjust back. Chin adjustment is easy too. The visor seems easy to get on and off. I typically had taken the visor off because on my Giro they didn't stay on very well. I've left it on so far it's been okay and well in place.Overall so far it's a great helmet. I've never had any major crashes with any of my helmets and this would be the third helmet I've owned in 17 years of riding. I've been riding to work three or four days a week for the last three weeks. Compared to the Giro that I just replaced the pads on it this one seems to be just as comfortable. The only thing that's really different is the adjuster to tighten it to your head. Oh and I guessed on the size I bought a medium and it fits perfectly. Most of the Giro helmets that I was looking at were universal in size. As I said you get what you pay for if you're serious about safety then spending an extra few dollars on a good helmet is worth it. But with that said anything is better than nothing. I'm surprised I survived childhood with no helmet and I was many wrecks and crashes. This is about $20 higher than the Giro's I was looking at and you can get a better fit with more specific sizes. This is also as light in weight as my old Giro. All the really cheap helmets I looked like they had a light in the back of it which meant it had a battery which to me would make it heavier. Overall I like this helmet so far. We'll see how long it last. Instruction manual says replace after three years that seems kinda short. But they gotta try and make money too. Happy helmet hunting.10-17-23: UpdateI'm knocking off a star. I've had this for over 2 years one of the straps broke on the back of the bracket. I noticed it today while riding to lunch. I can still wear it, I'll try and tape it or zip tie back together and keep it as a backup if needed. The area where it broke is pretty thin. I figure the other side would probably break too. I ordered another helmet just in case. I like this helmet and had no issues until today. I decided to go back to my Giro helmets simply because they have so many options and are relatively cheaper than this helmet. I like to pay around $50 to $60 dollar. The Giro that I bought was discontinued so it was much cheaper than original price. As I said the the Smith is a fine helmet. I guess the owners manual is right the life span is about 3 years. It's only been about 2 and half years since I bought it and don't ride year round. I'm sure their higher end more expensive helmets are better in quality. Some might have better luck to keep longer than 2 and half or 3 years. This was not my experiance.
