I use the file for storing receipts for the year then keep them for seven years. The file is sturdy and expandable enough for my needs. This is the first file I ordered without a flap because the flap always seemed to get in the way.

I don’t know if this is a normal accordion file thing, I’ve never bought one before, but it falls open unless you sit it just right. No way to hold it shut. Other than that it’s fine

Love these Smead expanding files. They are sturdy and store away with my tax records easily each year. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the flap which some models have because I put them in my desk drawer and can easily open the top and drop my records into the slots.

I am a real estate agent, and needed a way to control my pages of scribbled notes about clients' needs. This fit the bill exactly. It's fairly sturdy, stands up on my desk, and easy to have within reach. I just file the information about each client whom I am currently working with, then keep the notes with the purchase/listing agreement once there is a sale.

The file is not wide enough to fit a standard A4 sheet, you have a choice between squashing the paper in or folding it in half, completely useless for storing my personal bills and records and will end up in the bin
