I needed this for my mother‘s bed. She would get up in the middle of the night and this will alert me before she could hurt herself well worth the money!

I've had two of these for awhile and replaced the C batteries in the alarm occasionally. Then one day no sound from my father getting up. Guess what - the sender that is attached to the bed pad was dead. OK - no problem I will find that replacement part and all will be good. WRONG! When you call these people up they tell you that once that sensor battery goes dead - your only recourse is to buy the whole unit again. Are you kidding me? I'm on a fixed income taking care of both my parents and I'm just supposed to throw this whole contraption out and buy a new. Isn't this the definition of planned obsolesce. Sham on you Smart Care people for such a contrivance.

Literally, a life saver. This device has been so pivotal in the care of my father who has dementia. It is sensitive enough to pick up his movement, even when he’s fidgeting and uncomfortable but just doesn’t know how to call for help.It has also saved us more times than none in the attempts that he’s had to get out of the bed for whatever reason. The only thing is remembering to turn it back on! Otherwise, it’s been wonderful. Works very well. If there’s one thing I’m most thankful for in this season, it’s this device!

I bought this in a rush knowing that my dad was about to be discharged from the hospital. I purchased it thanks to reviews that explained the option for a low-volume alarm that could be kept with the caregiver vs. the typical ear-piercing alarm that goes off at the bedside. It got here the night before his discharge and I couldn't use it the first night because I didn't have batteries (a nerve-wracking, mostly sleepless night). Night two, batteries installed and alarm in place, it was wonderful! I could sleep in my own space, keep the alarm next to me in bed, and jump and run into my dad's room when it went off. The chime is loud enough on low, but it's not jarring and I don't have to worry about waking the neighbors in adjoining units. I'm sure it's already saved us from calling paramedics to get him off the floor (or worse), and it's saved me from having to move an air mattress into his room like I did after a broken hip a few years ago.

This bed alarm worked perfectly to alert us when my grandmother would try to get up during the night. Because we were able to respond quickly she had no falls overnight before she passed. We did discover that there were less false alarms when we placed the alarm under her lower back/hip area. There are two alarm sound levels depending on how lightly you sleep so it is worth testing what alarm level you need before actually using this with your loved one. The alarm even worked downstairs so we could go have breakfast before she got up for the day and not worry the entire time (before the alarm we had to run upstairs every time we heard any small sound).

This has been a treasure for me!! I take care of my 90 year old grandmother with dementia. She gets up several times in the night. Before we tried a different product that was unreliable and batteries died about every other month. I also tried a baby monitor but had to keep on all night to listen for her to get up. The bed alarm is a God send! It has a LOUD ringer I can turn on when I'm up and bustling around the house and she sleeps. The ticking in "off" mode is enough to wake me up (I'm a fairly light sleeper) but not so bothersome it keeps either me or my husband up. He is a heavier sleeper and doesn't wake to the ticking. I feel there are some times it goes off when she's just turning in bed, but I'll take it to not going off when she's up and into who knows what any day. As far as price, we've had it at several months now, maybe more than 6. The battery still works and if I have to replace the whole thing, I'd say I got my money & sleep's worth so I'm very happy with it!

This pad is super easy to use, and really is a lifesaver. My husband has Parkinson's with dementia, and needs help during the night to get to the bathroom. Before we got this device, I was getting very little sleep, having to keep one ear open all the time for him moving around, since he sleeps in another room. Now I can sleep. knowing the alarm (which sounds like a doorbell!) will sound from the monitor beside me the minute he sits up and releases pressure on the pad. One review said that the person's relative was too fast for the alarm and was gone before she could be reached. My husband has no problem with being too fast(!) and I have plenty of time to get to him. When I started having help at night, the caregiver was also grateful for the alarm, since it meant she didn't have to be in the room with him. HIGHLY recommend!
