Prior to this, I was a fool and used my hands (or other tools). For the past 3 years it has done its job without complaint. I actually use this for clean litter, but it can be used for both.

I needed to adjust my litter set up. Using clumping clay was only slightly convenient to clean up compared to wood pellets. Wood pellets do not excreet dust and are healthier for my kitty-girl. And intensely more cost-effective!! And i found a way to eliminate the urine hassle. I drilled multiple holes into the bottom of the litter box, got a second litter box, put the old one into the new one with a pee pad in between them, voila! I can use my new little shovel to scrape the wet saw dust through the holes, onto the pee pad, or pick up large quantities of wettened saw dust and toss.... poops included. (That is why i needed a litter scoop with out the slits). Was a little hard to find. But its perfect for the job.I wanted to share this hacked-litter-box- story in case someone is looking for a cheaper and healthier litter, and more convenient method for kitty potty-breaks. Hope it helps.😄

For years I searched for a litter scoop without slot openings. All I could find until this scoop was an orange small plastic shovel from a kid's beach bucket toy set. These broke within 6 months and then I couldn't find even those. A few weeks ago, I found this DuraScoop shovel on Amazon and while I was unsure when I bought it, I am very happy to have it. It is just a bit smaller than the typical scoop for lifting out #2 cat deposits, but those slotted scoops are useless for wet gravel type litter like Tidy Cat. But this DuraScoop shovel is perfect. I have four cats and four cat boxes. So, the new shovel has gotten a good workout in two weeks. It is very durable and absolutely a must have item for #1 cat litter deposits. I highly recommend this item.

This little shovel works perfectly for picking up any small pieces of waste that my Litter Lifter scoop misses. It's durable, has a comfortable foam grip over the handle and it easily picks up anything that doesn't belong in the litter. It keeps my 3 litter boxes cleaner and definitely keeps 3 kitties and me happier. This was a great purchase at a reasonable price.

This scoop is exactly what I wanted and the perfect size. I was looking for a car litter scoop that didn’t have holes for when I need to scoop ALL the litter out of my automatic cat box. I can’t just pick it up and dump it, it’s too big. This little shovel is sturdy and durable and has a comfortable hand grip. I almost want to purchase a couple more and put them away just in case I can’t find them again. These would also be great sand shovels or for spreading mulch in the garden. *Note: It’s flat edged, so it’s not good for digging in hard dirt or rock.

I never knew that I could feel so strongly about a pooper scooper. But honestly, this is so worth the buy no matter what the use. The handle is great and makes it easy to hold. The material is tough but also light weight. My favorite thing about it is it has a lip at the edge, so when you scoop things up you have more control. It makes a big difference when scooping guinea pig poops off of fleece or bedding out of litter box.

This is good - for what it is. It's a nice addition to my many cat litter scoops. It works well to pick out the wet clumps that are stuck to the sides/bottom of the litter box. It's also probably useful for moving clean litter into and out of the box and from box to box when necessary.
