This slumber-pod has saved our vacation. While my two year old will sleep just fine at daycare with the lights on, he refuses to sleep without darkness when we’re at home or on the go somewhere. So in prep for our vacation and upcoming PCS, we purchased this. He loves it! He calls it his “castle” or “rocket ship”. We got the mattress too but haven’t had the chance to use it yet.PROS: It definitely blacks out the light really well. You can see some daylight during the day, but at night, it’s pitch black. It has three pockets accessible from the outside, two mesh and one with a clear plastic cover. Perfect for the fan (which is a need, see below), monitor, and hatch sound machine. There’s also a mesh window in the door, and in the back of the pod for air flow, and it’s really lightweight, so it’s easy to move around.CONS: 1. It took us a good few minutes to put it together. 2. Without the fan, it gets really stuffy. So the fan is a blessing. This isn’t really a con and more so a lack of paying attention to the details on my part. But I was expecting the bottom to be enclosed in, like an actual tent. It doesn’t detract from it at all. Just caught me by surprise.

Paid more for item that included fan however, no fan was included and wasn’t able to return. Also, noting the poles themselves are quite long making the pod itself roomy but not ideal if you’re looking for something to fit in a smaller space.

The material impressed me, it's very well built. Poles are solid and its very dark. easy to set up. And it packs down into a surprisingly small bag which is not overly difficult to roll the tent into. Premium product.

This is by far our most valued travel item with baby! It was worth it after just one night. Baby loves it and sleeps super soundly in it as well.

We bought this for a trip we took with our 14 month old, where we had to share a room. The pod allowed us to be able to turn on the bedroom lights without waking him, or worry about him seeing us in the morning and waking too early. He was able to take naps during the daytime in what would otherwise be a fairly well lit room. We loved that the fan gave some extra airflow as well as some white noise to help baby sleep. The monitor pocket was also very helpful, and can be used for either an audio or video monitor as it has a clear pocket that views down into the crib.It was fairly easy to set up and use, but depending on the size of the room that you are in you may need some extra space to get the poles in initially. We loved the travel bag that it came in, making it easy to transport and pack, however I do wish the bag was slightly bigger or that it came with additional instructions to fold the cover back up in a way that it fits into the bed more easily. The materials were nice quality and were very soft and breathable. We did not worry at all about our child’s safety while in the the slumber pod. Will definitely purchase another if needed, worth every penny!

I wish I would’ve bought this sooner, but I’m so glad I have it now! This thing blocks out literally all the light that comes into the room when my daughter is napping. When I put her in it, she almost immediately goes to sleep! The only downfall is that it doesn’t have the greatest air flow. Even with the fan blowing on high, it still gets pretty warm inside. Still worth the money to me, I just dress my daughter in cooler pajamas!

Great blackout for the toddler so we don’t need to eat dinner in darkness!

Our house is smaller, so we share our primary room with baby. She is in a mini crib and this fits right over so she has her own space and I can scroll while she sleeps. She seems to like hiw cozy it is. She falls right to sleep.

Great for travelling, small, compact and easy to set up. Only issue is that the plastic for the baby monitor gets crumpled and impossible to see anything in the dark when we place our baby monitor inside. For almost $400, one would expect a bigger way to attach baby monitors.

If you can only invest in ONE travel item, it's THIS... hands down! The SlumberPod tent is one of my top shared baby items to all my friends and has been a total game changer. We travel often (whether it's long vacations or quick overnights) and this has not only kept our baby on her normal sleeping schedule, but made our travel experiences so much more enjoyable and easy! This pod can be set up within a few minutes (same style as a normal tent with the two buildable rods that snake through to hold the structure) and broken down even faster. I think at this point I've been able to do it in under 5 minutes! Especially if you (or anyone) are sharing a room with your little one, the pod goes easily over virtually ANY size crib, pack&play, etc. and creates a breathable but fully black-out sleeping environment. Depending on the room temperature, we sometimes use the fan which goes into a little pouch on the side to create additional airflow/circulation but often times don't need it. We're able to keep the lights on in the room without disturbing the baby given its ability to provide a true black-out environment. You can also easily check on baby with the zip front. We also hook our travel sound machine onto the crib inside the pod for a sleep experience just like she has at home... it's great! When traveling, the pod (and rods) pack down well and we typically just roll it up to save space. We've never had an issue packing this item into any bags... even if it's a small weekend bag... it's worth it! A few things to note, however: there is a pouch that says you can put your video monitor in, however, I wish this feature was better because the plastic doesn't really work to be able to actually see through when you put the monitor (in our case- nanit) in. One solution we have found (which is a bit of a DIY hack is we just bring packing tape and tape our monitor onto the side of the crib if we need to use a monitor and that works for us.) Additionally, to use the fan (and camera), you have to be pretty close to an outlet because the cords aren't very long, so one recommendation could be to pack a small extension cord, not use the features or find a place in the room that's close enough to use an outlet.
