Assembly wasn't difficult but you only have a drawing to go by with lines pointing to which hardware to use where. It is very cute and will be perfect for our event. It is made of wood and will work for roping as a game but I don't believe it is sturdy enough to bear any weight for example if someone were to sit on it and definitely not ideal for serious ropers. It is more like a toy. We paired this with a child sized lasso.
