We've enjoyed a slack line on the property for more than 5 years now. We bought the first one at a hardware store local to us and it set up quickly, was safe and didn't have the added insurance cost of a trampoline. I recently purchased this one on Amazon because one of the neighbor kids had partially cut our older slack line with a pocket knife. It still had plenty of strength, but we didn't want to risk an accident. The safety line is a thoughtful feature. While it could inhibit those with an advanced skill set, we have found that more people are willing to get on and enjoy bouncing on it with the safety line setup.

Great fun for my Scout troop! I took 17 boys to summer camp during the heat of a Texas summer. Knowing that they'd start to get tired and grumpy after a few days, I kept this as a surprise and set it up halfway through the week. They loved it! It was strong enough that we had 4-5 boys (young teens) on there at a time until I made them get down. I strung it between two trees with diameters of 12-18 inches and it was solid. The smaller "teaching line" on top was very helpful since none of them had experience. The bright color meant it was safe to leave up during the day, although I did take it down at night to avoid creating a trip hazard.I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because it took me a couple of tries to thread the line through the ratcheting handles properly, and unfortunately there were no clear directions on how to do that. I also had a bit of trouble releasing the line to remove it from the trees. The ratcheting mechanism is identical to most tie-down straps so I'm not sure if it would be better with any other system.

Flat River Group. This is a great toy. I live in Southern California where we don't have big back yards and I have to make trips to the park in order for my kids to play outside. I am also a youth fitness instructor. The kids LOVE this. I do not think that this is something that can only take 5 minutes to set up. And also, the amount of tension that truly needs to be applied actually needs a strong person to put it up. It's better if there are two. If you take it to a park where there are other children expect to be bombarded with "oh cool, I want to try!" Definitely, all the kids would rather stand on it together - they can hardly wait turns because they all want to get on it. This is where tension becomes an issue. If you can get your children to patiently stand one by one once it is set up - it's great. Just not as easy to set up as they claim although the more you use it the more you perfect the craft.

We bought this for a Fourth of July party and everyone loved it. It was super easy to set up and perfect for all ages and heights. We placed a air mattress under it and the kids had "chicken fights" with each other ! Lots of the adults gave it a try and enjoyed it also. It definately makes for a good workout too as you really have to use your core to stay balanced. We still have it up a week after the party! This was well worth the money spent and will stay up all summer long.

Our family really enjoys this slackline. My kids, ages 14, 12, 10, 7, 5, all love to play on this slackline. It is easy to set up. My husband taught our older kids how to set it up and now my 10 year old son can set this up himself at the local slackline park. The teaching line makes it fun for all of their ages. My husband, and 14 and 12 year old girls like to practice without the teaching line. No one can resist trying it out once it is set up. Even grandma and grandpa wanted to try walking the line when they were visiting in town. We had a lot of laughs! The product arrived in a timely matter and the storage bag works great when it is time to pack it up.

We have owned this for several months. My four kids and all the neighbor kids play on it every day. We often have 2-4 kids on it at once and it holds up well. Honestly, it was a little tricky figuring out the ratchet part (there's a Youtube video, too, but I found I needed a friend to actually show me), but once you get that down, it really does take only 15 minutes to set it up.We had so much fun with our first slackline that we actually bought a second. All the neighbor kids come over to play; typically ages 5-13 have no problem on the slackline. My husband and I go on it, too, and I'm sure my kids will go on it as they get older. I would say, though, that the teaching line is essential even for older kids.We did not need tree protection for the slacklines.

Easy to set up. SO glad we went with a kit that has a teaching line. We first put it up between two trees that were close together. It didn't take long for my kids (10 & 12) to want more space to 'roam' on it so we put it between 2 trees, about 3 feet high, that almost used the length of it, almost 50 feet. Talk about a difference! It's very bouncy when it is stretched out like that. Be careful when 2 or more kids get on it - it is JUST like a trampoline so that when they jump/bounce in sync it can launch one of them WAY too high. We have a rule, no synchronized bouncing. I got the tree wrap, you could probably just use an old towel and be FINE.My 2 kids loved swinging on their swing and chatting. When some way too big kids got on it and busted it for good, they were sad not to have something to hang out on. This filled that void perfectly, plus adds a level of exercise and balance work. Now they also like to bring a boom box outside & listen to music while they practice. I also will get on and hang out on there and chat with the kids. It's fun & portable! And it is affordable, too. Def worth a try. You can always set it up on the lower side to start out.
