Worked perfectly with my gas fireplace with a preexisting switch but lost remote. You do have to remove the wires that came with the new unit so can use the existing wires in wall

Replaced the oem unit. Have an older one that was original this replaced it and plugged in and worked perfectly. Easy to install. Battery seems to last a long time.

I dropped the handheld remote to my existing fireplace remote. I could not find a separate replacement remote, so I had to buy the whole assembly. It's an exact replacement for my existing remote system, and now I also have a replacement module, just in case the old one goes bad. The remote handheld unit is an exact replacement for my old one.
