Our 1/2 inch straight gas key valve kit is perfect for your gas fire pit or fireplace project
The valve is made of durable brass, it can last whether installed indoors or outdoors.
For use with up to 150,000 BTU of natural gas or propane.
The included key promotes safety since without the key the valve can't be operated.
The valve utilizes standard 1/2 inch female national pipe thread on both its inlet and outlet so you can integrate it with your existing gas piping.
A Few Points For Attention To The Use Of The Product
- The main valve for the gas line supply must be in the closed position.
- DO not use excessive torque on the gas valve during installation.
- Screw the gas valve onto the threaded gas supply pipe. Make sure the gas valve is in the closed position.
- Blow out all the grit, dirt or other foreign material from the gas supply line. Use a gas rated Teflon tape to seal all joints.
- Run an air pressure test (2 PSI)on the system to test for leaks. Apply soap water to all the joints to signal any evidence of leakage. Turn on the main gas supply and retest for evidence of any gas leakage.

Needed a log lighter valve to replace one that was installed in the fireplace brickwork. Relocated the valve to the drywall for future replacement, but normal valves are way too long. This one only protrudes about 1.5” from the valve body, which can be much easier hidden behind a frame or panel versus others. Works great and looks great as well.

This is the second one I ordered. We moved, and I put in another fire pit, so I needed another one. There have been no issues. Great quality, it will last forever.

Although this product is promoted for outdoor fireplace units, I reasoned that it also could satisfy the code requirement for a safety shutoff valve (in the same room, 1/4 turn operation) for my kitchen stove top unit. Bored a hole in the side of cabinet to fit the cylindrical part of the stem. I also needed to fit a pvc tube spacer on the stem at the inside of the cabinet to adjust for the difference between the stem length and the caninet wall thickness. Very clean easy installation.Update:Some have asked for dimensions of holes, length of pvc tube, etc. I advise ordering it and get accurate dimensions from the part.

I love the product as 3/4 inch key valves are somewhat hard to find locally. Looks and works great and a pretty good price. Only fault is that some of my customers find it stiff and hard to turn. In spite of that it is a great Buy.

Actually, all I needed was the chrome flange. Now I have a nice new valve that I can install and have the comfort of knowing I am safe from possible leaks in the future.
