Disappointed since the steel cable is clearly labeled 1.4 ton while the hook is rated 1.6 ton. Sure you could use the hook for 1.6 tons but not with this cable… otherwise is a nice piece of kit. Great for hauling out logs in the homestead.

This is made heavy duty and to last! It is strong and will lift your load. It is easy to use and will last a lifetime. Very good to have around the homestead!

This choker cable it perfect for skidding logs. Much better than straps as it will wear much longer and better than chains because they are lighter and easier to push under logs. The cable end is stiff and can be forced under the log where chains just flop around and need more space to be fed thru. The log in the pic is 45-50 ft long and is one of the smaller I have skidded with this cable.

Hook slides smoothly. There aren't any splinters in the cable. Still you should always wear gloves. The two "eyes" are nice and straight. It comes with a rating plate. It has a vertical rating that seems to be an accurate amount for cable of this size and construction. I used it last night to attach a come-a-long to a 20" diameter ash tree that was hung up. The hook left no deformation to the cable so after its first use the cable is still smooth and straight.

This Single Leg Wire Rope Sling has been a useful addition to my lifting and rigging toolbox. The materials are durable, the working load limit at various angles is clear, and the sliding choker functions smoothly. The Flemish eye loop and heavy-duty construction are potential benefits. I've been using this a ton for skidding out logs for firewood. So far so good with minimal ware and tear. Overall a solid buy.
