I have used these for multiple projects now and I can say that I have had no breakage issues with any of them. The nets that were included were easily able to be cut in half, thus doubling the number of nets for keeping the spool from unraveling. To keep them free from dust I keep them in the box, making them super easy to store. I have been very happy with the color selection in the set I got. All in all, I recommend this thread for embroidery machines.I've used the expensive madera thread and these look just as good.

I used this for a series of soft leather projects in a few colours and these matched perfectly and have a lot more thread strength than I thought they would! They do have a little stretch to them but retract right back perfectly. They were amazing to work with. 10/10 recommend.

It’s definitely worth the price. It was so hard to find a set like this locally and at a good price. So this was good!

I bought this set of Simthread Brother 40 Colors 40 Weight Polyester Embroidery Machine Thread Kit 550Y(500M) spools and I'm really impressed with the colors, packaging, and quality of the thread.I do a lot of machine embroidery, as a hobby, with a Husqvarna Viking Diamond, Viking Jade 35 and Brother PE770 and have tried several brands of embroidery thread over the last 20+ years and this thread works great on all three machines. Two things I always do and recommend with ANY home embroidery machine and embroidery thread are: * Always use a bobbin thread, not embroidery thread in your bobbins. My personal preference is ThreadArt bobbin thread in white or black, sold here on Amazon. It's the best bobbin thread I've ever used because it so closely matches to lingerie thread, which is what I used to use as bobbin thread. * Never machine embroider at the full speed of your machine, especially if you frequently experience thread or needle breakage and nesting. Always knock down the speed a notch or two, if you have that option. - With so many variables when machine embroidering with the fabric, stabilizer, thread, needle, brand of machine, tension settings, embroidery design density, etc. there's always the chance of occasional thread or needle breakage. I have found that if we don't have our machines cranking out our designs at full speed all the time, we have less chance of the thread and needle breakage or nesting. It also makes it a lot easier to stop the machine before it gets too far when the thread or needle has broken so you can back-track better to re-do stitches. One additional note:There are some other nice sets of embroidery thread here on Amazon that are also good values to consider. This set is one them 👍

I ordered the Simthread to see how it would work in my Babylock. When I saw the thread I was happy with the colors and the sheen. For the little bird I needed several colors within the same family for shading and I think it turned out quite well. The thread was strong and I had no issues pulling the start end from the cone. I am extremely happy with it and will order again.I did two projects. The first was a set of four napkins with just a simple flower. The napkins are polyester and very slippery. They are also thin and distort easily. I floated them with tear away. I had no issues with the thread at all.The second project was done on a flour sack tea towel. I was experimenting and lazy so I did get puckering but that is the fault of the operator, not the towel or the thread. I chose to float on a single layer of vilene. The towel really should have been hooped or if floated I should have used tear away. I had read where others had floated on vilene with success. I am not happy with the puckering but the thread stitched out beautifully. This was a VERY dense stitchout. I had no issues with breakage or shredding.Overall I am very happy with this thread and plan on purchasing some variegated and metallics. There is one comment that would make using this thread a bit easier for me. The color numbers are on the bottom of the cone. I store my thread in a plastic covered box and would prefer the color number where I can see both the number and the color without having to lift the spool from its storage box.

My husband bought me a Brother SE400 for Christmas of 2017. I immediately became hooked on embroidering. I purchased a Brother PE770 in April of 2018, a used Husqvarna Ruby in August of 2018 and a used Husqvarna Diamond in April of 2019.I found that I could use most any thread on the Brother machines, so I purchased 206 spools of embroidery thread from Amazon.Soon after purchasing the Husqvarna Ruby, I discovered that I could not use the inexpensive thread in it. I had constant error messages. After switching to Robinson/Anton thread, I had no more problems, other than the expense of the thread.Since purchasing the Husqvarna machines, I have tried many different inexpensive brands of embroidery thread with the same results. Error, error, error!Since I am a member of several embroidery groups on Facebook, I noticed several people were recommending this new Simthread. Seeing that it was only $20 for 40 spools, I decided to try it.The thread arrived the very next day which was extremely surprising. We live in rural WV, so anytime you overnight something, it’s usually 3 days. The thread was well packed and arrived in a sturdy shipping box. All 40 spools were in perfect order. After opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised to find a sizeable piece of stabilizer, spool nets, a color chart, and bobbins. The thread spools were not as large as expected and the thread appeared to be very thin. After seeing the thread, my expectations were pretty low.I found a scrap piece of material and hooped it on my smallest hoop (120x120), knowing that it was going to be another waste of money. I chose a small, dense, one-color design. I pushed Ruby’s Start button and she began. After about 10 stitches, a message appeared stating that the bobbin was empty. Knowing it wasn’t, I pushed start again and waited for the next error message, but Ruby kept going and going. After a little over 10000 stitches, Ruby said “your embroidery is finished”. What? No more errors? No check your upper thread, no clean out the bobbin area? And...the stitches are smooth, shiny and beautiful! What a pleasant surprise! Going to try a larger design tomorrow, but if everything goes this well, i’ll Be ordering many, many more spools of Simthread.
