I originally wrote a positive review of this chest because it is attractive, and had room for my sterling silver set. I opened it today to set my table for dinner guests and the entire kmife holder portion completely separated from.the chest's lid and all the knives came tumbling out. The tiny thin nails which had evidently been used to secure it appear totally inadequate. I vam VERY disappointed. I'd like a response and and some corrective action on this. The return date is past, but I hadn't had an opportunity to open the chest since arranging my silver in it upon receiptp⁴

I inherited a lot of silver and I have wanted one of these for some time, but they were so expensive. I needed two of these Koretech silverware one-tier felt-lined storage boxes. The description says that the velvet lining prevents tarnish. Time will tell. The hinges appear to be of good quality and the finish on the boxes is lovely. I got one in the Cherry and one in the Walnut. I like that it's portable and the storage allows me to easily count my silver after use to make sure someone hasn't thrown a fork in the trash while clearing a plate for washing.

A super fancy looking silverware box. The red velvet interior gives a real hoity-toity vibe to it. The wooden exterior kinda gives the same. I think we plan to use this to store our fancy silverwares when not in use and also for moving.

Great inexpensive storage box. It is lined with felt to prevent scratching but it does not have silver cloth to prevent tarnish on sterling. I loaded my sterling then put a layer of silver cloth on top of the silver and I think that will minimize any chance of tarnish.

I inherited a set of silverware. The box that the silverware was stored in was in fairly poor condition. For that reason, I decided to get this silverware storage box. The box has a very nice maple finish. The box itself feels substantial. It also has some nice extra touches, like a very good quality hinge and small magnets in the wall of the box and the lid to help hold the box closed.However, I have two concerns. First, the silverware set I have has some fairly long dinner knives. You can see in the pictures that the section where I put the knives is just over 10 inches in depth. However, when I try to put these knives in the lid section, I found out that my knives are just a tiny bit too long. The silverware box that I got with the set I inherited was able to store my dinner knives in the lid. I did include a picture showing this problem. So before purchasing this box, I would measure the length of your dinner knives to make sure they will fit, if you want to store them in the lid.The other problem I saw is that I do not believe that the lining of the box is anti-tarnish cloth. The product description says the cloth is a "luxurious velvet lining" but there in no indication either in the description or in the box itself that this cloth is treated to prevent tarnish. The box I am replacing does have the cloth lining specifically labeled as being anti-tarnish. This might be something that you want to take into consideration.

Finish on box was nicked in several places. Hinges came apart and had to be tightened. Inside lid knife holder fell off. Had to reglue. Edges of liner were not adequately glued to cabinet.

Pros:It holds my silverware in one place. Looks ok from far away.Cons:Wish the latch was more secure or had a stronger magnet.The inside velvet is rather cheap and wrinkled.The price.
