Used for the first time today and love it! I"m currently renting in an old house that's settling a bit and ceilings and walls are separating in some areas. Owner doesn't want to pay for foundation repairs..so I bought some elastic silicon sealant and used this item to seal the cracks. Electric bills are to expensive to allow heating or cooling to escape into attic or hot air into cooled spaces in summer.I read the reviews and concerns but I can say my immediate experience is loving it. Metal kinds are two heavy and cumbersome but this is very lightweight and easy to use. Getting the tube out afterwards is not an issue.

This Gun Works really nice for smaller cough jobs and tight spaces. The pros are that it's very Compact and you can get into small areas and it puts caulk out fairly smoothly and works as described. The cons are that you have to keep cutting the tube down to be able to feed more caulk through and each squeeze does not put out a whole lot of caulk. But it is definitely something I will add to my tool bag for those times where I really need it

I HATE(!) the metal caulk guns that are everywhere at Home Depot, Lowe’s and the like. I’m a feeling DIY’er and don’t do caulk repair often enough to build up a skill. So every time, the metal caulk gun becomes my evil nemesis because it’s so hard to squeeze the product out and it’s hard to control the flow of caulk such that it runs smoothly but doesn’t either push out too much… or worse yet, keep okay pushing out the caulk long after I let go of the trigger. This product solves all of those issues and I really like it. I caulked my second bathroom shower so easily and quickly that I decide to redo the caulk in the master bath too because it was so easy!So why theee stars?! If you look at the picture of the product, you see that the caulk tube passes THRU the caulk gun and not around it lie in the metal ones. So how can the device push on the caulk tube and also somehow push the entire caulk tube thru the middle of the caulk gun??? Because it cuts the caulk tube slowly as you squeeze on the trigger. The result is that some caulk can escape out of the back of the tube. It’s not a ton for sure… but it’s enough to dirty up the interior of the caulk gun and require you to clean it. Add to that, that the caulk tube cannot be saved anymore (by capping the nozzle) because there’s a big cut in the back too!So if you’re like me and are terrible at caulking, this is your caulk gun!!! But if you don’t need that extra assistance AND don’t want clean the caulk gun each time… and a also don’t want to throw out the extra caulk tube each time like this newbie DIY’er… then skip this choice.

I’m a handyman with years of experience. I own 3-4 caulk guns at any time, and most of them are well-used. I’ve used the El Cheapo ones and the most expensive ones and everything in between.I bought this out of curiosity more than anything, but it’s quickly become my favorite. It’s so much smaller that it fits easily in a tool bag or box. The shorter length has come in handy several times for tight spots, like behind a sink or toilet. It doesn’t move quite as much material as a typical caulk gun, but that’s rarely a problem. It allows you to lay a precise bead exactly where you need it, and it doesn’t drip as much as most guns. The design is unique and functional. My only concern could be longevity. The ‘grip’ used to advance the tube could get clogged or damaged over time. I’ll update the review after a few months, but for now I’m ready to buy another one.

It's not often that products today live up to their manufacturer's claims, but I have found that the Siligun exceeds them! This tool makes caulking like a pro easy. It is easy to work with, far more compact than a traditional caulking gun and, best of all, it is simple to use accurately with one hand! As to the claim that once trigger pressure is released, no more material comes out? Well, it is absolutely true without exception; each and every time I released pressure on the trigger, the flow of caulk stopped instantly. Surely a far cry from the old caulking guns where the material just continued to ooze out until internal tube pressure was relieved. Finally, once the used tube is removed from the tool, there is absolutely no material left on the tool itself, so there is no need to clean it. Add all of this to the fact that there is no learning curve to speak of and you have a tool that every home handyman, DIY-er or even pro needs in their toolbox! Thanks for getting a truly fantastic product onto the market!!

This is a nice looking tool, attention was paid on how it was constructed. Clearly a lot of effort spent on design and thinking of a new way to design a caulking gun. That said, the effort clearly failed. The concept of the thing is that an abrasive sleeve grabs the cartridge and pulls it backwards against a fixed plunger. This requires of course that the tube is cut in some way on its way backwards and that the abrasive sleeve has enough "grip" to expel the caulk and overcome the force needed to cut through the cartridge. This is where the first problem arises, as the abrasive wears off and gets clogged with the paint and material from the cartridges, so it looses its grip quickly. This means that only relatively soft cartridges can be cut, i.e. the thin plastic ones, not cardboard or aluminum tubes. It also means that any adhesive or caulk with higher viscosity will not be expelled easily. So you cannot use this for heavy adhesives like most contractor's adhesives (especially when cold) or sikaflex. The fact it cuts the cartridge also means you cannot turn the cartridge around to align your angle cut tip with the job at hand, so it becomes quite unwieldy to use. When putting too much force on it, to get heavy adhesive out, mine burst apart and I sent it back for a refund, all within a week or so of purchasing it.Final conclusion: this is a gimick, not a serious tool, really not worth its price of twice that of a traditional caulking gun.
