Unfortunately these arrived broken. I ordered a replacement and the replacement mirrors arrived broken as well.

While I don’t really like the whistle on the lanyard and will replace it with a louder/better type, I suppose what’s provided is still better than you having to scream for help. The multi-purpose mirrors themselves are top notch – I believe some refer to them as Starflash type because of their unique/centered target sighting hole shape. Don’t forget to remove the protective film coating of the mirrors (surface will appear dull and scratchy if left on). With such a light weight penalty, you should never leave for a hike without one of these in your kit/on your person. Overall, I find these emergency signaling aids to be a great value, and like that the multi-pack covers more than one vehicle-stored 72-Hour Get To Safety Emergency bag. U.S. Quarter Dollar shown for sizing comparison. Thanks for checking my review comments and photo – hope you found them beneficial in your consideration of this product.

These two signal mirrors from Limcox came in a heat-sealed plastic pouch with an easy-tear notch, which kept them from being scratched up like some other signal mirrors I have. If I didn’t need to practice with one, I would have kept the pouch unopened in my backpack. In an emergency I'd tear open the pouch, keep one for myself, and pass one to a friend. The sealed pouch is 8” x 6” x 0.5”.The instructions on the back are printed right onto the thick gray plastic instead of a label. So there are no worries about the mirror ever getting wet and the label soaking off.The mirror is thick and sturdy, and does not bend in the slightest. Each mirror is 3” x 2” x 0.25”. My kitchen scale says the mirror with lanyard is 1.1 ounces or 32 g.The front has a thin peel-off film, which I will leave in place to protect the surface. The star-type sighting finder is inset and has a slight lensing around it. It was easy to use once I got the hang of it. Youtube videos are the fastest and easiest way to learn– just search for “signal mirror” or “starflash mirror”.The lanyard is like a type of black paracord. There’s a nice spring-loaded cinch to keep it tight on your hand while signaling. The cord is long enough to be worn around the neck; but the lanyard isn’t break-away, so it’s not suitable to wear for young kids, or when climbing around. The “whistle” end is chunky and easy to hold, but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t actually make much sound. It’s softer than a tea-kettle whistle. That’s the only feature that is somewhat disappointing, the rest of the kit is top notch.Very happy with these.
