After shopping a bit for mapping/navigation protractors and templates I hit on this set. Considering each of those is around $9 at best, you receive 4 clear templates, scales and protractor and 4 weatherproof cards with navigation tips such as how, using basic trig, to figure the width of a river before attempting a crossing, magnetic declination, pace count, distress signals etc., for less. They're small (4" x 2") but large enough for map work and to fit into your pocket. Also you receive an 'Any Weather' note pad (4 1/2" x 2") with about 50 pages. Very useful and good value. NO ONE should go into the outback without a compass and the knowledge to use it effectively and these tools will assist you greatly in most land nav situations.

Sorry but just short of £18 for a small note book and 6 plastic cards with very basic map reading notes, not worth it.

Überschnelle Lieferung und gute Qualität. Schade das es auf Englisch geschrieben ist. War auch so geschrieben. Sehr hilfreich ist es trotzdem.Sehr empfehlenswert 👍

Good base line product to include in your survival kit for personal use as well as a teaching aid. Clear instructions and information, includes a waterproof notepad. I actually purchased these and the UST Live and Learn Outdoor Skills Card Set after a discussion at my town job regarding survival if things suddenly go south, where one of the girls who works up front asked me how exactly I intend on making sure we make it home safe (She lives roughly 16 miles from where I do and is on my way home. I live 25 miles from my town job and she lives roughly 9-10 miles from the workplace.) and what is anyone supposed to do if I am injured (This coming up after her telling her boyfriend that she fully expects him to get himself killed in the first 5 minutes of anything that happens). I have been using this to teach basic orienteering skills as well as the need for general survival training and preparation as it is likely in such a case road travel will be at a stand still leaving overland travel as the only viable option.

This kit is very much focused on navigation, and very little on survival. But, I guess with proper navigation you won't need to worry much about survival. That said, it touches on the basics that in high stress situations can be hard to recall. The navigation cards are very useful and comprehensive. This set, or something like it, completes my navigational aid set. Along with a map and a good compass. And lastly the writing pad, it comes in handy than you might think. Like leaving notes for people, or as tinder when you really need it. Don't forget to put a pencil in with the kit ;)
