Fair quality but the hole for the pin needed to be drilled a bit bigger to fit on a 1994 Mercruiser 4.3L carb.

I rebuilt the carburetor on my Mercruiser 3.0 with one of those aftermarket kits and it worked alright for a probably a few months before all of a sudden it started flooding out. I tore the carburetor back apart, remeasured the float height and drop over and over again, but still had no luck. It would either flood out or not get enough fuel, and the difference was made by a millimeter or two in float height. I finally went ahead and ordered the OEM rebuild kit, only to get it and find that it did not include a new float!! Spend almost $100 and no float, what a joke! Then I finally found this float and ordered it. Once I got it I rebuilt the carb again with this float and the OEM rebuild kit, and it worked perfectly. Boat starts and runs great now. Afterwards, I inspected the float that came with the aftermarket rebuild kit I had originally used and I found that it was cracked where the metal lever meets up with the plastic. I'm pretty sure that that was my problem the whole time and that all I really needed to do was replace the float with this one, and I'd have been good to go.Only complaint I have about this float is that it's made of some type of foam, and it seems to flake off a bit, at least at first. I could see it flaking off and potentially clogging up the jets in the carburetor or some other small orifice, but so far it doesn't seem to have done that. I made sure to clean off any loose dust or pieces that seemed like they were flaking off before installing it so that might have helped.

Junk... this float does not have adjustment markings and is not the same design as the original equipment (OE) float. The design is close, but off enough that it caused concern with the float hanging up on internal parts due to tight clearances that do not exist with the OE float.

This float is shaped similarly to the oem one in my mercarb 2 barrel, however there are a couple big issues with this replacement. First, as others note, there are not any toe indents. Second, the float was no where close to the correct adjustment. The tabs had to be bent so much that I almost couldn't make this float work. It would also be nice if the float came with some specifications for various the carbs it fits - absolutely no instructions or specs included with this float.

The Sierra 18-7202 carburetor float for Mercarb is a good replacement part.I needed to rebuild my carb so I purchased this float as most carb rebuild kits dont come with a new float.Pros:Decent instructions and all tools necessary to adjust the carbuetornifty little paper tape measureCons:As others have mentioned adjusting refers to just using the toe of the float to adjust to (were talking millimeters here, precision is key)The stock version has a actually small plastic dot on the side to base measurements off of.Summary:All in all, I was able to adjust my carb right the first time and it worked flawlessly. I would recommend the product to anyone but, just about every single person will be scratching their head about this toe issue. I am knocking off 1 star for the toe confusion.

Perfect replacement for my Mercuiser Mercarb 2bbl rebuild. Matched the original float that I only replaced due to it's age. Quality appears to match the original.

If you've got your carb open, go ahead and replace this part. It's easy, and the one in your carb may be saturated with fuel, changing performance. Note - the seam line on the side is NOT where you should measure to - measure to the toe, the part where the float goes from angled to vertical.
