This is what I was exactly looking for could not find it in local big box stores thank you Amazon for caring this product extremely well-made built-in work box, not a cheaply made product very thick durable plastic. The color is all the way through also. extremely happy with my purchase.

Not a good enough fit to use on my 4” inch flap. Not enough chalking to take away the noticeable spacing gap where it is close to a half inch gap from the siding to parts of the mounting block in one section and I see no real way to shave the block down or cut into the siding to lower that gap to a decent chalking space.Nice product though but fits the top portion of my siding but the middle area leave a gapping space..

I needed to mount a large lantern on the house and this made the job go much faster and blends in with the siding and mounts perfectly on siding.

I have 5" siding and this unit is for a 4" spacing. It took 15 minutes and a Dremel and it now fits my 5" siding perfectly. Well made.

Used to replace smaller block and wiring box for an upgraded exterior light on our deck. The product was delivered next day with all parts in new condition. The block is a sturdy, paintable polymer that mounted easily and provides a stable foundation for the carriage light I installed. Instructions included are well written and easy to follow. The siding cut outs aligned nicely with the 1/2" X 4" vinyl siding on our home. I used exterior silicone caulk to ensure a watertight seal against the house and around the base of the light. Once the old block and box were removed it took me about 10 minutes to install the new block/junction box combo and another 20 minutes to wire up/install the light and caulk the joints. While it may seem pricey, the quality, integrated junction box, ease of installation and finished appearance make it worth your consideration...I am very satisfied with the purchase. I may paint the block to match the siding but it looks just fine as is (see pictures).

This is by far the best 1/2 inch double lap siding mounting kit for outside Lanterns.I had an old metal mounting plate which I had to cut some of my siding to make added space, then I used the 2 bottom holes to slowly screw the mounting plate with 2 1/2 deck screws so use caution when torquing securely flushed Mounting Plate against the siding. The only minor issue was it didn’t come with directions on how to use a dome sized cap which you have to cut the center hole, and then snap in the the small dome shape piece from the back side, so your black, and white wire stays nice and snug when you feed in the black and white wires, and the green ground mounts to the metal mounting plate to the Lantern.I accomplished installing this Lamp Light within and hour. 5 Stars for fit, finish, and a Professional new look! Buy it, look at my pictures, and you’ll be Happy like me that you did!

Of course your want some caulk around it to do the job right, but, it looks good and works great. If I had a complaint, it is that the holes to mount whatever your light fixture to are not recessed so of your fixture is flush mount, you may have a small gap requiring you to caulk around it. But, that's minor for me at least, I'm glad to have a camera floodlight now outside my garage!
