Strong enough to hold 5 or so empty 12 ga cases, AA or HOA cases must be picked by the primer (BRASS) Nice for auto shooters at range like me , Take it with you in field and keep area clean

The stick picks up shot gun shells as advertised and has a decent magnet. Only gripe is the magnet does not go the full length of the tip. It stops about half way up. Great buy though, and I will be purchasing more as gifts.
