searched several reviews and couldnt find a solid answer- well here it is- this DOES NOT fit the 2-1/2" vac outlet which from the description I assumed it did. It only fits and serves as a reducer for the output end of the hose, which would allow you to use 1-1/4" attachments from there. I was looking for an adapter for the vacuum output port so I could just run an 1-1/4" hose straight from the vac which you CANNOT do with this. Hope this helps clarify for others...

Just happy that this easily converted my full size shop vac hose down to 1.25” so I could use smaller diameter attachments. I bought it specifically to be able to reach inside my washer/dryer combo lint trap area.

I accidentally stepped on my last reducer, and I was worried it didn’t fit the standard shop vac hose, but it fits perfectly. Heavy duty practice, but I will try not to step on it this time

Very useful in my wood shop as an adaptive fitting between my 2 1/2" shop vac hose to my orbital sander and miter saw

We wanted an adaptor that would allow our Shop-Vac vacuum to connect to the hose coming from some of our bench power tools (Chop Saw, Sander, etc.). However it wouldn't plug in to our shop vac hose (Same OD and ID as the Shoc-vac hose). Schedule 40 pipe connectors at local plumbing stores do not come in the size needed to make it work. Having to use tape makes it sticking and hard to switch from tool to toll. I continue to look for some kind of hard connector.

This is 2 7/16" NOT 2 1/2". It is a very loose fit into my Dewalt table saw. I still have to use duct tape to secure it in place, but other than 3D printing my own (I don't know how) I don't know of a better solution.

Please stop posting reviews that are bad because you don't know how to use this. It is simply meant to connect a 2 &1/2" hose to a 1&1/4 " hose. It does this just fine. It's not meant to hook into your tool port. It's not made of rubber as some have said. It's not any cheaper plastic than what your shop vac already has on it. The 1&1/4" side is meant to attach a 1&1/4" HOSE to it and then attach your accessories to that hose. If used in this manner it does exactly what it is suppose to do perfectly. Think before you trash everything on your reviews cause it often times reflects upon your intelligence more than the quality of the product
